For anyone who missed the news last night, Herman Cain has endorsed Newt Gingrich for President.
The endorsement is important has the Florida primary slides into its last days, though the endorsement is not a great shock.
The men enjoy a friendship that was obvious during the campaign. When Cain left the race, many of his supporters and some of his campaigner staff signed on with Newt.
Herman Cain in some ways is very much like Newt Gingrich. He is a bold innovator. His 9-9-9 plan, while being a not great idea, was something he it pushed into the public spotlight.
Cain’s endorsement brings some new energy to Newt’s campaign.
The question is, will that endorsement plus Newt’s tenacious campaigning be enough to win Florida for him?
Perhaps. The race will be close.
Romney has been pulling out all of the stops to win. The RINO establishment has lined up behind him. The establishment media, such as the Drudge Report and Fox News have been doing everything in their power to make Romney the nominee.
The establishment has brought out Bob Dole and John McCain for Romney. Is the name of Romney campaign, the old losers tour?
Why do people listen to Dole and McCain? We listened to them in the past. How well did that work out for us?
There is one man who has it in his power to stop liberal Mitt Romney from becoming the Republican nominee. That is Rick Santorum.
Santorum has no chance. The latest polls show that Romney is at 41%, Gingrich at 33% and Santorum at 16%. If Santorum’s people all voted for Gingrich, Gingrich would defeat Romney in Florida.
Santorum’s supporters have to ask themselves a question. Do you want to continue to split the Republican vote and have liberal Mitt Romney lead the Republican Party to defeat in 2012?
Right now, that is what a vote for Santorum means.
Romney’s entire strategy this election cycle has been to divide the conservative vote until there are no conservatives left.
If Romney wins, he destroys the conservative movement and the Republican Party.
If Romney wins, Obama wins. He cannot defeat Obama, barring a miracle and even if he defeats Obama, America loses because his administration will be just like an Obama administration.
If you think this is an exaggeration, consider this. When Romney was governor of Massachusetts, he appointed nothing but a stream of liberal judges. Many of Romney’s advisors in Massachusetts went to work for Obama in 2009. If Romney is even to the right of center, why were all of these far left wing kooks working for him?
If you are in Florida and you are thinking about voting for Santorum, remember, as much as you like Santorum and think Santorum is a good guy, a vote for Santorum is a vote for Romney.
Do you really want Mitt Romney as the Republican nominee?
Permalink Reply by Dennis L on January 29, 2012 at 7:55am The Tea Party does have a say (and an influence) but it must be remembered that we are not 100% of the electorate. The Tea Party is typically the "swing vote' or the group that can give the candidate the lead in a close election. In this case we have a liberal running against two conservatives. Its similar to having one Democrat running against two Republicans.
Its not going to be easy to defeat Mitt Romney but "front runners" have been defeated before. By Cain endorsing Gingrich, we have a pretty good idea who his choice for VP will be. It is likely that Cains endorsement of Gingrich may solidify the Tea Party vote. I hope that this is the case.

Permalink Reply by Alexia MacReady on January 29, 2012 at 10:55am Whether there's a place for us in the GOP or not, at least for this election we need to push for a conservative. No, Newt is not perfect by a long shot but what he is: is a patriot, an intellect and a conservative. He's our best chance to change things in DC. He is not establishment, in fact, he scares the establishment because he's not their lapdog.
Think about the possible openings for Supreme Court Justices. Newt would definitely nominate conservative, pro-lifers.
So let's form our independent party after the election in November, okay? In the meantime, vote Gingrich.

Permalink Reply by John Beck on January 29, 2012 at 7:51am I'm afraid folks, that you are watching the emplosion of the republican party led by Fox News. Too few people have noticed that several months ago Fox has taken a hard left turn away from conservatism and is now leaning toward the left. They will ultimately be giving the election in November to Oboma. Conservatives have become too comfortable with Fox, depending on them for fair and balanced reporting and are watching them dismantle the Conservative movement which is so desperately needed in November. Start counting the number of Pro-Romney clips and anti-Gingrich clips aired on Fox. Everyone knows that with the establishment Republicans we will get more of the same government that we've had for the last two decades. I've talked with a great number of conservatives in the last two weeks who say that if they have to vote for the same old government policies, they just will not vote. Thus, in effect, will emplode the Republican party and hand the election in November to Oboma. It's coming folks, watch for it on Fox. At least we will have a brand new party after the elections, there just probably won't be any more elections. SC was smart enough to see through the Liberal media's con, now FL, it's your turn. Don't blow it!

Permalink Reply by Bruce Baker on January 29, 2012 at 8:15am Whether or NOT Fox News in general makes Romney the nominee by the way they go with the NEWS REPORTS is questionable. NEWS is generally driven by the MINDLESS reports that generate the MOST INTEREST and RETURN the most dollars. If Gingrich is what makes the news .. it's GINGRICH that day not ROMNEY. Same goes for WHOEVER is generating the MOST VIEWER INTEREST ..
What I want to see is Gingrich KNOCK off ROMNEY as the nominee with the whole host of TEA-PARTY SUPPORTERS behind Gingrich. Like it or not, it's a battle of mythical purportions to dislodge the old line politics that are embedded in the D.C. Beltway that never really change, no matter what party is in power. Too DAMN many special interests and Minorities being embedded in town having their agendas put up front for my tastes, and it shows how bad it is by the ECONOMIC DOWNTURNS.
America can stand just about anything when everyone is prosperous... right?
Unless the entire internet and communication network is shut down .. the OLD LINE establishment is NOT gonna win this one.
Yeah, Obama Stole the last election in 2008 with his brainwashed zombies who never did their homework or actually checked into the statements he was making, but after three years of Obama ... I think there are enough of us who WILL question, who will research, who will call out the candidates on what they say verses what they do.
ENOUGH ... ENOUGH of the old line B.S.!
Herman Cain's endorsement, much like Sarah Palin's tacit support of Newt, is completely logical and predictable.
Herman, Sarah and Newt are all rogues, as seen from the Establishment's viewpoint. All present ideas that are widely divergent from the mainstream view. And all are much further to the right in all things economic, while rejecting the stranger and generally unacceptable Libertarian viewpoints.
The parties Republican and Democrat are only slightly divergent from each other today. Is it any wonder that the parties unite in opposition to these "smaller government" heretics?
In many ways, one should think of the Primaries as the final election. And, of Santorum as a Third Party candidate. Third parties lose, while stripping votes from their closest analogue among the actual candidates.
Or, to state it bluntly, a vote for Santorum is a half vote for Romney. In the final analysis, a vote for an "also ran" has the same effect as not voting! Why waste your time voting? Stay home and do something useful. Write a letter to the editor, or do the laundry...or something.
Or, get out and vote for Newt. Get your friends out to vote for Newt! The time for action is now!
