He really is Jimmy Carter

For the under 40 crowd, who do not really remember the Seventies, I have some good news for you. You are getting to relive them. No, we do not have disco. No, we are not recycling leisure suits and John Travolta is not making a comeback.

We have the rerun of Jimmy Carter.

Yes, Barack Obama really is another Jimmy Carter.

Marking the similarities between President Barack Obama's time in office and former president Jimmy Carter's is nothing new. But as of Monday, Obama has hit one more Carter benchmark - both saw gas prices double in their first term of office.

In fact, while just barely, Obama has seen an even higher gas price increase than Carter dealt with under his administration.

Under the Carter administration, gas prices increased by 103.77 percent. Gas prices since Obama took office have risen by 103.79 percent. No other presidents in recent years have struggled as much with soaring oil prices. Under the Reagan administration, gas prices actually dropped 66 percent. When Bill Clinton was president, gas prices grew by roughly 30 percent, and under both Bush presidencies, gas prices rose by 20 percent.

Barack Obama is just like Carter. Carter was merely incompetent. Obama actually wants to see gas prices rise.

Anyone remember Stephen Chu?

The Obama energy secretary said he wanted to see gas prices rise to European levels. Does anyone remember what Obama said in 2008?

He had no problem with the high gas prices, only the rate they went up.

In 2008 Obama was being interviewed by CNBC and he said:

Harwood: So, could these high prices help us?

Obama: I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment. The fact that this is such a shock to American pocketbooks is not a good thing. But if we take some steps to help people make the adjustment, first of all by putting more money into their pockets, but also by encouraging the market to adapt to these new circumstances more quickly, particularly U.S. automakers, then I think, ultimately, we can come out of this stronger and have a more efficient energy policy than we do right now.

So when Obama tells us he wants lower gas prices, it is just another case of knowing Obama is lying because his lips are moving.

They would only give our tax money to the people that would continue to vote to keep their narcissistic ass in office.

Makes them feel soooooooo good to "give po folks our money"! Sort of like Robin hood.

You should read The Road to Serfdom, if you have not already.

What you describe is the grouping of the greatest number and most-controllable
of voters...the poor...to use them to press for socialistic government policy, hence
ObamaCare!
