The Obama Campaign has to be in a panic. They are not publicly saying anything but there has to be a panic.
Why?
Because in almost every poll, unless the pollster over-polls Democrats by at least 10%, Romney is either leading, tied or within the margin of error of the poll.
The Obama Team has a plan to go nuclear if it looks like he will lose the election.
What is the nuclear plan?
Obama’s nuclear plan is a plan born of desperation. Obama’s approval numbers remain dismal, at well below 50%. Anyone who has ever been around politics knows that if your approval rating is below 50% you are cooked because undecided voters always break for the challenger.
The Electoral College, which at one time might have given Obama some consolation, is now slipping. The most recent Rasmussen poll showed Obama with 201 votes, Romney at 170 and 167 as toss ups.
So what is Obama’s nuclear option? It involves nuclear weapons. It involves Iran’s nuclear weapons.
Obama’s nuclear option for the election is war.
It would more than likely be a war or some type of military engagement with Iran.
Tensions have been high in the Persian Gulf as Iran gets perilously close to developing nuclear weapons. Iranian defector Reza Kahlili clams Iran already has a nuclear weapon.
If Israel strikes Iran and the United States commits its forces to help Israel, the political upside for Barack Obama is limitless.
First, Jewish voters would flock to Obama and forgive him for his previous snubs of Israel. Second, Americans always rally around the President in a time of crisis.
While Obama generally blows the role as commander in chief, this is one instance where the façade would not have to last long.
What could Mitt Romney do?
Barack Obama would not be on TV as a man running for reelection. He would be broadcasting from the Oval Office as in solemn tones he announced American soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines were going in harm’s way.
What could Romney do?
He would have little choice but to sit back. Most Americans would not be supportive of him attacking a sitting President while Americas son’s and daughters were dying in combat.
Obama would see an instant surge and that might be enough to push him to a second term.
The downside for Obama would be that Americans could see through the ruse that he is using the bodies of American military personnel to gain his second term.
Obama’s Achilles heel is that he does not do the commander in chief thing very well. According to a new book that is coming out in August, called “Leading from Behind,” by Richard Miniter, Obama cancelled the attack that killed Bin Laden three times at the urging of Valerie Jarrett.
An Internet rumor going around at the time said Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton basically authorized the Bin Laden mission and did not tell Obama about it until it was too late to stop the mission. If you look at the photo from the situation room, Obama appears off to the side, almost as if he is not involved. If Richard Miniter’s book is right, that could validate this story.
If Obama believes he is losing the campaign, he will use the military and a war to try and get America to make the same mistake it did last time, and give him four more years.
The only way to prevent that is to make sure that America knows this is what Obama will attempt and make certain that if Obama tries to use the lives of our military members to get a second term, every American knows this and will vote him out of office for even trying something like that.

intervene nor interfere for six months.

The DHS has ordered hundreds of thousands of 9mm ammunition. They have announced they plan to use drones over America for support at major events or in the case of riots. The Constitution gives the president the authority to suspend habeas corpus in times of innsurrection. And who would question Obama's willingness to use that if it advanced him politically?
The civilian force equal in strength to our military that Obama envisioned while running in 2008 is now a reality. Will Obama use it against Americans?

Permalink Reply by Thomas Angle on I am not so sure that Obama attacking Iran would bring his numbers up. There are a lot of people mad about the length of time we spent in Iraq and are spending in Afghanistan. I think another conflict over there would be a bad move politically for him.
There is also the question of do we have enough military strength to do it right? Another question is do We the People have enough gumption to let the military fight a war the way it should be fought? If not to either or both, stay out.

Perhaps the last such example was bipartisan support of 9/11. Can't you see it now, Obama "wrapped in the flag" of Patriotism?
