Most conservatives have no respect for liberals, at least not what they believe. However, conservatives should have a lot of respect for what liberals are capable of and how they carry out their plans.
Liberals are very good at messaging. Conservatives are getting better. Republicans are somewhat worse than awful at messaging.
One of the most recent examples of good messaging has come from Obama and the regime. Obama said, in relation to the high gas prices, “there is no silver bullet” that will make gas prices come down. White House mouthpiece Jay Carney has picked up on that phrase and is using it. The phrase is gaining traction as even Fox News has started using it.
A better and subtler example of good messaging has been the debt ceiling debate. As everyone knows, Congress will face a decision in the next few weeks. Congress must either raise the debt ceiling or the government will not be able to borrow any more money.
Congress not being able to borrow any more money and having to deal with the spending crisis sounds like a pretty good idea. The left does not want congress to deal with the spending and debt crisis. Those on the left have their reasons. Some do not want the spending for their pet projects, such as entitlements to stop. Others simply want to see the United States keep borrowing and spending until we hit the point of an economic collapse. If Congress has to deal with this issue now and actually stops spending, that would not be good for liberals.
SO, they have messaged the story in a way that most people have now accepted. Either congress raises the debt ceiling or the United States defaults on its debt.
The service on the debt, or in other words, the interest that we must pay, is only about six and a half percent of our spending right now. If we did not raise the debt ceiling, the Secretary of the Treasury can still pay the debt service. Default will only occur if Turbo Tax Tim Geithner did not pay the service.
Another good example of messaging is left’s use of bankers to tell the GOP that they must go along with the debt ceiling increase or there will be a huge financial collapse. If we listen to the left, these are just “experts” warning us of the doom that is to come.
One of these experts is JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon. He has been outspoken in telling Republicans they must go along with the Obama plan to raise the debt ceiling or there will be another depression.
Of course, what the liberal media does not point out is that Dimon has been a long time contributor to Democratic causes. He has given over half a million dollars in the last few years to Democrats candidates and causes. Does anything think that might influence what he does? Oh, did we mention JP Morgan still owes the US government about $36 billion in bailout loans from the FDIC?
Goldman Sachs is another of the big Wall Street firms that is pushing the message. Goldman employees raised a million dollars for Obama in 2008. Of course, they are now “unbiased” as they advocate financial suicide for the United States.
One of the biggest complaints the GOP has had with the Tea Party is that we are not on board with them. They are right. We are not. One of the reasons there is not more cooperation between the GOP and the Tea Party, particularly where we have overlapping interests is because the GOP cannot get a message out. If the GOP would spend a little more time on messaging and a little less time cleaning John Boehner’s freshly laundered white flags of surrender, the GOP might be getting somewhere.
Instead, thanks to GOP incompetence, they may be losing yet again.

The left has a terrible design for us yet each year they take another step forward with very few steps back.
The Republicans really need to figure out what they stand for because I rally don't know what it is. I know what they are saying today but it's not what they were saying yesterday and it's mostly the same people. And they wonder why we don't trust them.

Permalink Reply by Ann G on April 27, 2011 at 10:11am Heard of the sticky note campaign? I don't know if that's what it's called...think I found it on SodaHead, but notes stuck on gas pumps, cartons of eggs...ect., placing blame for skyrocketing prices squarely on Obama.
Would this be considered vandalism? Otherwise seems like a good idea.....

Conservative women do a much better job of "getting the message out"? Ever wonder why this is true?
Without getting too much into my head-shrink persona, the reality is that the Conservative women have the power of education and jobs combined with a sense of what ails the nation as a homeland, a version of what women do in their own households, i.e. set the tone.
The job the left has done in the deconstruction of the US in terms of destroying the value of the US has been tremendous. Masculinity, our need for territory, security, wealth, a meaningful hierarchy, reading the bad guys the "riot act": this is all now a kind of taboo.
On the right, the republican elite, in particular, has lost the feeling of what it means to protect and to preserve the union, and seems incapable of exhibiting any "fire in the belly", any real sense of urgency about the precarious state of our America.
W (voted for him twice) betrayed the fundamentals of our country when he failed to protect the borders, secure us financially by policing Wall St, and by keeping down the debt. W was really just the latest version of his father, HW, whom I personally liked a great deal. But, let us remember that lack of vision was a real problem for HW.
When you lose connection to values of the soul, you lose your vision. Lack of vision, and a lack of fire in the belly that energizes you to create what you see and feel within, is a sign that you kowtow to "ideals" that are, in fact, against what is good. HW and W with their allegiance to NAFTA and open borders out of a misbegotten sense of "being fair" to others is a good example.
So, enter our Tea Party, the successor to the "silent majority", the Reagan democrats, the Ross Perot supporters and so on...
We have to replace all of GOP leadership to get real men and women who are not so guilt-mongered as to be unable of confronting China on trade, deal with border and energy independence.
These new men and women are not going to come from elite sections of our society. You may have noticed that even as wise a man as Dr Krauthammer simply does not go far enough.
And, that is why we don't get our message out as well as the true believers in the opposition...

Permalink Reply by David on April 27, 2011 at 11:14am Cry baby Boehner just seems to be giving up in the face of Obama and his minions. I dare say that Obama absolutely hates
America and Israel. He is very pleased with what he is doing. If gas hits 5, 6, or 7 dollars a gallon millions of us will be financially crippled and there is no need for this. Obama and his gang want this. America is on the same path that Adolph Hitler took Germany on before WWII and we have Obama leading the way along with how many unseen others. Obama needs to be removed from office right now but that is not going to happen. God forbid that he is re-elected by some quirk in 2012 because America will be doomed if that happens.

Permalink Reply by Elizabeth Shea on April 27, 2011 at 11:51am Lately, I have been wondering if John Boehner is just another RINO deliberately interfering with conservatives' progress by giving in to the pressure from the Democrats in the House.
I do not remember how and when Boehner was named Speaker. But it is obvious he should be replaced by someone like Jim Demint or Paul Ryan -- or Michelle Bachmann! She would be a strong Speaker!
