The battle has started. The first few shots of the skirmishes before the full battle is engaged. The battle is the battle to stop the raising of the debt ceiling.
“TurboTax” Tim Geithner has already gotten out front and center on this battle. He is coming out with the standard propaganda from the regime that it will be the end of the world as we know it if we do not raise the debt ceiling.
Unfortunately for Americans, who thought that by putting the GOP in charge, we would have some real opposition to the Obama, Pelosi, Reid axis of fiscal evil, John Boehner seems to have an unlimited supply of freshly laundered white flags of surrender he wants to haul up.
Geithner has said that Boehner and other senior Republicans have told Obama that they will go along with the plan to increase the debt ceiling.
My how things change. Less than fifteen months ago, Eric Cantor excoriated the Democrats who wanted to raise the debt ceiling from $12 trillion to $14.65 trillion. What has changed now that makes Eric Cantor think raising the debt ceiling is no longer a bad idea? Maybe Eric Cantor is the bad idea.
The left has already been pushing a traditional strategy for them. They want conservatives to agree to increase the debt ceiling now and then we will work on plans for long term spending control. This is an old trick. It worked well for the Democrats in the 80’s. Ronald Reagan went to Washington and he wanted two things. First he wanted tax cuts to stimulate the economy and then he wanted spending cuts. The Democrats were happy to sign on to the popular tax cuts, but when it came time to do the tough work, namely cutting pet programs, they balked.
We in the Tea Party need to act now. We have a favorable terrain for this battle. We already have at least 142 Republicans who have said they will vote against the debt ceiling increase. In the Senate, 40 Senators could filibuster this increase. Surprisingly some support could come from the Democrats. They already see the handwriting on the wall for 2012. A few of them who are up for reelection in 2012 may decide that filibustering the debt ceiling increase might be a good move to help get them reelected. They need to be encouraged. We need to encourage those who are thinking about running for President to get out in front of this issue. I have my doubts about Donald Trump, but this would be a good issue for him to lead on.
We in the Tea Party need to take individual action. Today, I will be going to a meeting with my Congressman. I have already spoken with her political director and I’m sure they know why I am going to be there. If my Senators hold a meeting, you can bet I will be there too. This is what we all need to do.
We need to contact our Congressmen and Senators and stay on them. 218 votes wins this battle in the House. 40 votes gets us a filibuster in the Senate. Our Congressmen need our attention. With Boehner, Cantor and the GOP leadership selling out, we need to reinforce the idea the people are tired of this. If they vote for the debt ceiling increase, they need to know they will not have to worry about the House leadership giving them a cushy committee position. They will not have their job in the House after the next election.
We did not help the GOP win last November, simply to have a House filled with R’s behind their name. We sent them there to stop the outrageous spending and be more fiscally responsible. Raising the debt ceiling is not being fiscally responsible.
The fight has begun. We need everyone on the front lines, helping America survive.

You know, I'm really amazed. The root of all of our problems is our inability to throw people out of America that are undermining and destroying her. We can remove a Circuit Court Chief Justice (Roy Moore) for refusing to take down a Ten Commandments monument that has been in his courthouse for years; but we can't arrest, try and imprison or deport (as the case applies) people like Soros, Sunstein, Jones, Farrakhan, etc., ad nauseum. They have infiltrated every corner of our society and are spreading like a cancer over our land. THESE PEOPLE admittedly are trying their best to destroy our country. WHY ARE WE STANDING BY AND LETTING THEM DO IT? WHY ARE WE NOT INSISTING OUR POLITICAL PIMPS START CLEANING OUT THE BARNYARD? We can apply all sorts of medicine to the budget, spending, ruination of our schools, new regulations against various freedoms we have enjoyed, BUT UNTIL WE GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE CANCER, and defeat it, WE WILL NOT SUCCEED.
I want to see these vile people out of here and I don't care how they are removed, but removed they MUST be!

Me too, Fred. I love Sarah Palin, but I am not so sure Palin could win the Presidency. She is hated with such intensity by the leftwing lunatic lugnuts that they would find a way to destroy any chances she might have. Same with Michele Bachmann. I think she also would be an excellent President.
I would really love to see West run because I think he could whip that other so and so and I think enough Blacks are disenchanted with obamahood that they would vote for Col. West.
And besides, we could then turn the "racist" label back on the lugnuts if they didn't vote for him. Sounds like a win/win to me! ;-)

I would guess that the strategy this (whimpy) house of "Representatives" should use is something like this:
"YES, the end of the world MIGHT BE coming. Good Point! And: THAT IS WHY we must / absolutely without question MUST agree ASAP (like Today) ..........to make huge spending cuts, and raise that debt ceiling ever so slightly, and then have a highly reliable game plan to move forward, KNOWING we already hate each other (Dem's and Conservatives) and that is NOT LIKELY to change / ever.

I was listening to O'Reilly go on tonight about how BHO invited Paul Ryan to his speech about what HE was going to propose for the next fiscal year...and then ran down the work that Ryan and his committee did w/o really giving anything substantive to help our country out of the chaos of our Debit.... I was struck by the flashback of BHO and his speech before the joint Congress and having the Supremes sitting there in front of him as he railed about a decision they had ruled on about campaign financing... Saying things that weren't true about the decision they had rendered after careful consideration to the Constitutionality of their findings... HOW this CRIMINAL in the White House uses his Bully Pulpit to make accusations against people HE knows have made good choices for the people of this country...but that they don't kow-tow to him so that he can drag this country further into Socialism... It's like I tell my husband...what that man spews forth becomes TRUTH as the liberal media dishes it to the koolaid drinkers as gems of wisdom...and those who take it as gospel NEVER look futher to find out what REALLY is the truth...so it's the Conservatives who are left shouting into the wilderness...never being heard because THE ONE is the only person capable of speaking "THE TRUTH...AND BEING HEARD...

Treasury Czar Geitner on Fox business, wants $ two plus trillion lift in debt ceiling debtor else it will be bad. Always it's with promise that this will do it, but then he says 'we have a moral commitment.' Dam moral commitment, the bulk is needed via the Fed to bail out the banks again - or if you have ( not ) been paying attention, the banks have again went long and now do not have the capital to meet their obligations, and this time it will be far more serious than the collapse begun after 2006. The moneys extended by the banks were never accounted for and now its a crisis and the Federal Reserve is complicit, always. The $ 2 trillion lift in the debt amounts to a slush fund to meet obligations. Geitner said that the lift will allow the Obama administration to then make cuts in expenditures, but our moral commitments is something else. How you ever believed that Geitner had it right or that Obama ever kept a promise, or tells the truth. One of the fears too is that Obama will suffer if the collapse takes place again. PLEASE JUDSON rally against lifting the debt. It was said of the earlier bailouts that it delayed the truth, and again the bailout continues.

We need a line in the sand. The government has been growing exponentially since 2000. The first rollback must be the biggest, because the pipelines are flooded with multiple trillions of dollars.
We would agree to increase the debt ceiling by the amount of the 2007 deficit with no chance of revisiting the question for 12 months without a 3/4 vote of both houses (to allow for an attack by a foreign nation)
Each successive increase would not be revisited for 12 months and would be limited to the deficit in 2005, 2003, or 2001.
After that the annual budget will be reduced to 22% of GDP of the previous year and each year decrease by 1% until we get down to spending of 18% of GDP. And each year the debt limit will be decreased by at least 1%.
Included in the debt ceiling expansion will be language to refrain from nation building, develop our oil resources, and begin to dismantle all government agencies that our not constitutional
. . . . . Or NO debt ceiling increase.
