Barack Obama’s budget went down to crushing defeat today in the United States Senate.
How crushing?
It was voted down 99-0. Couple that with the earlier House vote on the Obama budget which was 414-0 to reject, it means Obama could not find a single Democrat to vote on his budget. Not even crazy Sheila Jackson Lee would vote for that budget.
From the Washington Times:
President Obama's budget suffered a second embarrassing defeat Wednesday, when senators voted 99-0 to reject it.
Coupled with the House's rejection in March, 414-0, that means Mr. Obama's budget has failed to win a single vote in support this year.
Republicans forced the vote by offering the president's plan on the Senate floor.
Democrats disputed that it was actually the president's plan, arguing that the slim amendment didn't actually match Mr. Obama's budget document, which ran thousands of pages. But Republicans said they used all of the president's numbers in the proposal, so it faithfully represented his plan.
Sen. Jeff Sessions, Alabama Republican, even challenged Democrats to point out any errors in the numbers and he would correct them — a challenge no Democrats took up.
"A stunning development for the president of the United States in his fourth year in office," Mr. Sessions said of the unanimous opposition.
Technically it is the job of Congress to come up with a budget. Today marks 1113 days since the Senate fulfilled its legal obligation to come up with a budget.
Come on not so bright Harry Reid. I bet you budget in your house. Everyone who runs a business knows how to budget. If you do not know how to budget you go belly up.
Almost every American family knows how to budget. Especially in the era of the Great Obama Depression, every family must as they decide what they must cut out so they can survive the damage the Obama, Pelosi, Reid axis of fiscal evil has done to this country.
One thing is certain. The Party of Treason has proven itself totally incapable of running this nation. The last time the Republicans were in charge, unemployment was at 4.6%, 90% of college graduates found jobs, gas was at $2 a gallon and we had 52 straight months of economic growth.
Yes, I was better of six years ago than I am today.

"Yes, I was better of six years ago than I am today.", Judson?
Heck, I was better off a week ago!
How the heck can you budget, with these yo-yoes playing around with stealing our money?

Permalink Reply by Mike NQR on May 16, 2012 at 5:32pm Great article. Thanks Judson. I, too, was better off 6 years ago than I am today. Six years ago I was gainfully employed. Today I'm over 13 months without work. Any idea how difficult to talk conservative while living on unemployment compensation? Well, today, I was hired to start work next Monday. Who do I owe thanks to? Not Ovomit, that's for sure. I owe thanks to my own diligence and the help and prayers of many, many people, most of whom are FaceBook friends I never met in person.
My task in November is the same today as it was yesterday. It will be the same on election day as it is today: to get rid of Ovomit and start the long trek of getting this great nation back on track.
Thanks again and God bless you Judson.
Permalink Reply by william greene on May 16, 2012 at 6:08pm congrats on the employment - nothing in life is as important as gainful employment. knowing that you're needed, have a place to go, a community in which you're respected and counted upon, and the comfort of bring home the bacon by the sweat of your brow.
tough on the self-employment front in this economy, but we've made it through the worst. consumer confidence up on the knowledge that this nightmare draws to a close. money is starting to move again. it's far from over, but the obstructionism from the top will end.
too bad the entitlement class doesn't understand how important work is to your sense of self and well being.

Permalink Reply by Linda Rund on May 16, 2012 at 5:54pm Now who is BO going to blame? Wait 'til Rush gets ahold of this.
So who was the 1 senator who voted for?
But the Senate is still to blame for the 1113 days without passing budget.
Permalink Reply by WALTER KLUKSA on May 17, 2012 at 8:48am Note-- 99-0 no one voted for it probably one absent or maybe justReid refusing to vote.
Permalink Reply by OneCitizenOfTheRepublic on May 16, 2012 at 5:59pm It's pretty hard to "budget" when you are planning to steal people money in order to balance it...
