I like Herman Cain.  He is bright, unconventional, plain spoken and despite all of his great qualities, about to make a terrible mistake.

Last night, on Fox, Charles Krauthammer asked Herman Cain if race had anything to do with the new attacks on him.  It was a hanging curveball that could have been crushed by Cain and knocked out of the park.

Instead we got this:

"I believe the answer is yes, but we do not have any evidence to support it. But because I am an unconventional candidate running an unconventional campaign and achieving some unexpected unconventional results in terms of my -- the poll. We believe that yes, there are some people who are Democrats, liberals who do not want to see me win the nomination. And there could be some people on the right who don't want to see me -- because I'm not the
'establishment candidate.' No evidence.

Relative to the left, I believe that race is a bigger driving factor. I don't think it's a driving factor on the right. This is just based upon our speculation.”

Yes, Herman liberals are much more racist than conservatives.  But the reason they are coming after you now has nothing to do with your race.  It has to do with your POLL NUMBERS!

Herman Cain could have had one of those winning moments.  All he had to say was, “I am winning and I have great ideas and those who oppose me will do anything to stop me.”

Instead of even touching on the race card, Cain could have put it to rest forever with a great response.

Regrettably others have picked up the race card and are running with it.

On Tuesday, Americans for Herman Cain, a super-PAC unaffiliated with his campaign, sent out a fundraising letter that called the allegations a “high-tech lynching” to “take down any black man who stands up for conservative values.”

Please give me a break.  This is not about race.  It is about winning.  Cain is winning.  Obama considers him a serious threat.  So does Romney.  There are others within the GOP who feel the same way.

The GOP is awash in really good talent.  We have as potential nominees, Cain, Gingrich and Bachmann who are all incredibly intelligent and gifted.

The problem Herman Cain has right now is his staff.   They should have been ready for the POLITICO story weeks ago.   They should have known that it was not if but when the race card question was going to come up.  They should have had an answer ready for him that would have knocked that one out of the park and had the quote as the headline of the day.

Cain is in the major leagues now.  He needs a major league staff if he is going to continue as a serious contender.

Politico was the first one to break this.  Feel the same about the childish dissertations flowing between the candidates.  As a matter of fact, I'm somewhat embarrassed.

Possibly Newt/Cain would be the best - Newt knows his way around and Hermann is just starting to get his feet wet. It takes more than a good business person to beat Obama. We need a man or women that knows foreign policy, that knows how to solve the illegal immigration problem, that will not hesitate or be wishy washy when answering questions.

Hermann knew about this fiasco quite a few days ago and didn't have the right people behind him to put out the fires before they became an all out bon fire. Hermann isn't good on a lot of issues outside of the economics at this time - he'll get more adept, but he darn sure isn't now.

I want to hear from someone how they will cut spending, pay down the National Deficit, deal with China, deal with Iran, Egypt and now Libya. It takes much more than a good ole guy to run this Country.

I am so sick of polititions, the race card, the stop wall street gang of idiots and anny other group of jackasses who want something for nothing. As for the Herman Cain issue, its just like a case in court,i can call a so called expert to counter

youre expert and so on.The settlement these so called victoms received may not have been an effort to hide guilt. Maybe it

could have been a case of the cheaper way to go.Cain was a top executive and stood to lose a great deal more than money.

Maybe it was cheaper to pay.

There has been reports that these acusations may have come from one of the GOP candidates.I have only one thing to say to such a candidate.May you go down in the flames of the American people. We are in a battle to save America from

those who want to destroy us.If you want to shoot, shoot at the enemy and not youre own troops.

Let's not put our faith in one candidate yet. Stand with the lot, keep our own counsel, sharing negatives in ways the snakes won't rejoice in, and find the good in each. If you think this is just politics, consider that it is just as much real spiritual warfare. Don't you discern any demons swirling around the scene? "We haven't been given a spirit of fear, but power, love and sound minds." Lets use them!

I wholly agree with the idea that Cain is now playing with the varsity, and his batting average better be up with the team leaders VERY soon.  I too want to see him as the republican big hitter......false charges disproved or ignored with the party behind him, for a change!!!!!!!

Innuendo, unsubstantiated facts, anti-conservative media bias, and unwillingness or intellectual inability for Conservatives to cross the sexual preference boundary with a black liberal. Now we are 2 months out from the obliteration of a popular conservative.  What do we have?  As one who did not particularly trust Cain because of ties to the FED and one who only followed the issue from a distance, like most Americans, this is what I think I know of the allegations:

Cain said that a woman was the same height as his wife. This is sexual harassment.

Cain made an unidentified hand gesture, that the accuser found offensive.

Cain upgraded a former employee's room. Then while driving her somewhere, he parked and grabbed her genitalia while pushing her head towards his crouch.  This act I consider impossible unless one performs for Cirque du Soleil.  She reacted poorly to this advance and he drove her back to her room.

After a party Cain was seen leaving for his room with a woman who woke up the next morning in his room. At the end of the story it turns out that no one saw her get in the same car as him.

Cain had an affair with a woman for a number of years.  There exists somewhere documentation of the affair, including a number of calls from the woman to Cain.  We never heard any of the calls. There were receipts of hotel rooms. We never saw the hotel receipts.  I don't remember seeing any pictures of Cain with the women.

Gloria Alred represented one of the women and made a joke with sexual overtones.  I can't remember the joke, but it was inappropriate.

Cain categorically denied all accusations.  All accusations came from one of his jobs in Chicago, where David Axelrod had connections.  The details on a sexual harassment allegation could not be released because the settlement contained a non-disclosure clause, which both parties violated.  No disciplinary action was taken against Cain.

That's all folks.

Many conservatives of Cain started to draw comparisons to Clinton who had accusations of rape, affairs that lasted years, received hummers in the oval office, used cigars inappropriately with an employee, lied directly to the American people, lied under oath in one of many sexual court cases against him, and was impeached by the House of Representatives, and the whole time the liberal media and his wife blamed the whole disgrace as a vast right wing conspiracy. We have since found out that Rahm Emmanual arranged the affair with Monica.

Where the conservatives have missed the mark is in leapfrogging Obama to go back to Clinton. If the media is intent on attacking a black candidate without the restraining need for substantiated, verifiable documentation, why don't the Republicans go after Obama for his myriad affairs with men and his nonexistent dating of women. Obama is brazenly able to push the gay agenda. Wouldn't it be full disclosure to identify himself, not as a compassionate heterosexual  but rather an ultra passionate, drug assisted, homosexual?  Do not the conservatives find it of any consequence that black men who Obama dated ended up murdered right around the time he started his spiritual ascension to the pinnacle of power?
