If insanity is described as trying the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result, what do you call someone who tries the same thing over and over again, gets the same result and does not learn from it?

Perhaps we could call it the United States Government.

And, it has happened again.  They have tried the same thing, expected a different result and surprise did not get the different result.

What did they try?

They tried yet another free trade agreement.

Last year, Obama, the Senate Democrats and the House Republicans all teamed up to pass the Korea Free Trade Agreement.

We were promised that it would help spur American jobs and open the doors for American trade to Korea.  We were told this would be a net benefit for America.

Where have we heard this before?

Oh yes, we heard it when the North American Free Trade Agreement was passed.  And when the Central American Free Trade Agreement was passed.

You know, something amazing happened.  You know all of those benefits that the government said we would get from free trade agreements?  Guess what?  They never materialized.

Now we have the Korea Free Trade Agreement.

It went into effect on March 15th.

Do you know what happened the first full month of the Korea Free Trade Agreement?

Our trade deficit with Korea tripled.  All of that in one month!

This is really not a shock.  After all, every time we have tried a free trade agreement, it has not worked for us.  It has been a great deal for the partner nations, but not for America.

Now we have a ballooning trade deficit with Korea and what goes next?  American Jobs?

Even before this deal was agreed to and enacted, projections showed this would increase America’s trade deficit.

I can understand Democrats working against America’s interest.  After all, they are the Party of Treason.  They hate America and want to see us fail.

What is it with the Republicans?

The Republicans are drinking the free trade kool-aide.

Before another Free Trade Agreement is entered into, is it asking too much to see just one of them work for America?

Is it asking too much to see just one of them actually reduce our trade deficit or maybe produce a trade surplus?

Most people only need to be burned by a hot stove once before they learn.   Not our leaders.

They keep doing it again and again.

Unfortunately, they are not the one’s paying the price for their stupidity.

It is real Americans who are losing jobs and seeing their standard of living fall.

Here is an idea.  Let’s revoke a couple of those Free Trade Agreements and see what happens to America’s trade balance.

I’ll go out on a limb here and predict that revoking those Free Trade Agreements will help America, not hurt it.

Leaders of America, are you paying attention?

It is your job to look out for America, not for Mexico, Central America, Korea or any other nation.

Washington are you listening?

I can honestly say I have learned because we cannot continue to elect socialists to defeat socialism, therefore neither Obama or Romney will get my vote.

You must be a liberal. Vote for Romney and strong conservative TP candidates for House and Senate.

But Norm, haven't you heard of the Unicorn Party? Yeah, there's the winning ticket!  <sarc>

Carol, Yes I get the point ~~of the Unicorn P.  hehe

Sometimes Carol you must think for yourself and out of the Republican box, if you think Romney is not a socialist that is your perogative, but his record shows he is, his continuous lies say he is not to be trusted, While I do agree we must remove Obama, it won't happen when the GOP continues to push Obama light.

Beverly, don't presume to know my thought processes. You are not God.

Well there is Gary Johnson, he was our Gov. here in New Mexico, and did a wonderful job. He left our state with a huge surplus, which Bill Richardson ran through like a drunken sailor on leave. Now we have Suzanna Martinez, a Republican trying to right the ship, so far she's done well, but not enough. Look into Gary Johnson, he's a good man.

I have been seriously considering Gary Johnson.

No liberal here at all, An American veteran that has had enough of the Communism infiltrating both parties, you all are entitled to vote however you want, and remember every vote does count, but as long as you continue to give the nod of approval to socialism, you all have no room for complaining. It is clear that if people would wise up and start voting with informed principles and values we would not be in the situation of nominating the most left leaning "Republican" we can find. The vote is a private, personal choice it is not a collective action dictated by Party or peers. Vote with your own conscience and common sense and we will all see things begin to improve. electing a socialist is not going to stop, slow down or even remove the socialism in this Country.

Beverly,

If you like what Obumma has done and vote some 3rd party, you are as good as voting for Obumma.  Romney is not an intransigent ideologue nor does he seek the destruction of our country and way of life.

If it's perfection you seek in a candidate, you'll not find it.  Not in any one of them, including Ron Paul.  The world is not black and white and neither is politics.    Romney is not beholden to any interest group like Obumma.  One thing is very sure, we cannot afford four more years of fiscal and social destruction as we have had and certainly will have if we get Obumma again.

If we get a conservative House and Senate, do you think we will get more done with Obumma or Romney?  Obumma will continue to circumvent Congress by his relentless use of executive fiat.  Do you think Obumma is going to change? Certainly not.  Romney is not my ideal choice either. IMO, this is the last chance for change before we go over the precipice to losing America.

Norman

That is your opinion Norman which you are entitled too, but as I have said many times before, you don't defeat socialism by supporting another socialist.

But if you want to move away from socialism, you have to actually elect less-socialist leaders than the last time.  Voting for conservative candidates that have no chance of winning may be sticking to one's principles just a bit beyond reality.

Get rid of the antiChrist, then try for a third party or a real conservative next time.
