Obama made one of his typically socialist statements this week. He was urging an end for tax breaks the oil companies get. Obama, the socialist, is offended with the “P” word.
Profit.
Of course Obama wants to take a shot at two things he hates. First is the oil industry. Since coming into office, Obama and his regime, have done everything they can to make war on the domestic oil industry. From the “permitatorium” in the Gulf, to designating a lizard as an endangered species so it will put an end to West Texas oil production to the whole bureaucracy that kept Shell oil from drilling for new American oil off the coast of Alaska, Obama and his band of socialists in Washington have been trying to kill the American oil industry.
Obama, like any other socialist hates profit, except of course, for himself. He is offended and outraged that oil companies are making a profit. Of course, what has Obama done his entire life? He has been a community organizer and a government employee who has lived off of the wealth of others. His only claim to real work has been his two books, the first of which was probably written by Bill Ayers and he has still never explained how an unknown author got a major advance to write a memoir.
Obama wants to cut off tax breaks for oil companies. Of course, he thinks that anyone who refused to work should get a tax refund for taxes they never paid. This is Obama world.
There is something out of this that we should pay attention to.
To say the tax code is screwed up is like saying Obama is left of center. The tax code is a disaster that needs to be completely rewritten. Conservatives will argue over what is the best method. One possibility is a flat income tax. As Ray Stevens once sang, “If ten percent is good enough for God, it is good enough for Uncle Sam.” Another possibility is a consumption or a fair tax. Those have merit and would be better than any tax on income, however before we talk about doing that, the Sixteenth Amendment must be repealed, otherwise we will get what Obama dreams of: more taxes.
When the tax code is rewritten, however it is rewritten, one thing conservatives must remember is that the purpose of the tax code is not to promote one policy or another.
We must remember that the purpose of taxes is not to soak the rich. It is not to provide subsidies for poverty. The purpose of taxes is to provide revenues for the government.
We conservatives all agree government is bloated and way too big. Government must be shrunk. However, what government that is left must be funded. Our military must be funded. There are certain other departments that must be funded. That is the purpose of taxes and the tax code.
After 2012, when conservatives take over and hopefully we start working on a new tax code, we will need to remember, the more you tax of something, the less of it you will have. Perhaps, as the tax code is being rewritten, we can find a way to tax liberals.

I agree the tax code should be rewritten. Have a level playing field. Make the government spend only what is necessary and stop taxing everything on this planet. Profit Obama has plenty and gets more daily.

The problem is obvious when we look at the picture of Obama bowing to the Saudi king.
Poor Obama! How can he serve the Saudis, to keep buying their oil, and allow drilling for our own US oil at the same time?
It really puts poor Obama in a pinch, doesn't it! I feel so sorry for him-----------

Obama knows how to sell himself to naive Americans. In 2008 he got 64 million votes.
GOP is incompetent. GOP people do not know how to expose the real Obama to Americans!
The way things are the second term is gonna be easier for this half muslim, fake American.

I agree with this assessment. Obama is against people who work hard and are successful. He is as I have always thought a Socialist who would love to distribute the wealth. He is starting with the education system we no longer have public schools we have government schools. He is attacking our very American way by encouraging wealth distribution not encouraging personal ingenuity and pride in personal performance.

As usual, when Obama speaks:
1. He forgets what he said yesterday.
2. He lies a lot.
3. He forgets what he lied about.
4. His new lies don't match his older lies.
"We have an energy policy" is true, but it is based on weird Marxist ideas, such as:
1. Oil companies are evil because they make a profit. [If oil companies don't make profits, we won't have ANY gas.]
2. High gas prices are caused by greedy oil companies. [No - high gas prices are caused by failure to drill in the US, and giving the control of world oil to OPEC.]
3. Giving US money to Brazil to help them drill. and buying oil from Brazil, is better than drilling in the US. [No - every barrel we buy outside the US adds $100 to our negative balance of payments, now $700 billion each year, just for oil.]
I used to think that Obama was just a Liberal fool, but now I know he is a Marxist interloper, out to kill our economy.

In Obama`s eyes if you are not a socialist or muslim you have to pay 100% to the controling Gov. an maybe they will give you something to eat if they get around to it otherwise off with their heads... They do not work for the American people....

The tax code for sure needs to be totally overhauled to simplify things for both companies and people. Something needs to be changed so that everybody is on a much more level playing field when it comes to taxes.
