A lot of money goes to Susan B. Komen with the hope of curing a terrible disease that takes the lives of far too many women, and well it should be. It is a noble cause! But, for some time, Komen has had an association with Planned Parenthood, an organization that is prominent in providing abortion services. Recently, we've seen news that Komen had decided to break its bonds with Planned Parenthood. That decision was to applauded.
Since there are numerous contributors that support the fight against breast cancer, but do not favor legalized abortion, this was the most honest decision that Komen could have made. To do otherwise would have been to continue to accept donations under false pretense and contradiction.
But, as of Friday morning, 1/3/12, Komen decided to relent to pressure from pro-abortion groups. They have decided to continue to support Planned Parenthood. They have chosen those with whom they wish to be identified. Now, it is for contributors to Komen to decide with whom it is that they will be identified.
Contributors should be able to make their donations with a clear conscience. Should they give to an organization that seeks to save lives, but then turns around and funds an organization that takes the most innocent of lives? Can we not be allowed to make our own minds up whether to fund Planned Parenthood or not?
It is unfortunate that the fight against a killing disease must be associated with the scourge of infanticide. If Komen cannot find it within themselves to separate from Planned Parenthood as it should, then it is up to those who are pro-life to separate themselves from Komen, and then find some other way to continue to help find a cure.
How can Komen claim on the one hand to want to work to preserve life and then fund those who want to take life? The two positions are so contradictory that it is hard to believe that Komen any longer wants to be taken seriously. Of course, Komen is free to decide for themselves, as we all are!
Many do not support Planned Parenthood and deeply resent Komen's use of their money to promote abortion! Perhaps when the Left got up un arms about Komen's reported break from Planned Parenthood and Komen relented, they did not consider the possibility that when they hold their next "Race For A Cure", those who also believe in the sanctity of life might not show up. Then, Planned Parenthood can hold their first ever "Dirge For Death".

Indeed, many forget the several Breitbart videos of Planned Parenthood Like Abortions for Minors presented right here.
And another. ....Exposes Planned Parenthood CEO’s False Breast Cancer Clinic Claim
Were quite a few others, a year or so ago. I'll not bother to link the old stuff...probably saw them on Fox or somewhere.
The problem, of course, is that the money is not well tracked, not accounted for.
How soon we forget these things.
But if one wishes to support unfettered abortions, it's quite legal to support Planned Parenthood!

To be pro-choice and not pro-abortion are entirely incompatible with logic, and shows a lack of self-discernment.
You're choosing to punish un-born babies and the women that abort them for what reason?
If Komen's only concern is for women why don't they send that money to other non-abortion institutions that provide cancer screenings and related? Does it seem wise to endanger these funds by sending the funds to a private business that everyone knows is so controversial?
Hmmmm Slavery and Jim Crow were also legal in this country.
"Family Planning is the best way to reduce abortions" ---- just as increased entitlement programs is the best way to reduce welfare, ---- or ---- just as minimum wage increases are the best way to reduce unemployment among the youth?
No, the best way to reduce abortions is to get back to a society where women are not just "c#m dumps" for any horny guy that comes around. And free-for-all abortions is not provided as a form of contraception (i.e. family planning). And a society that doesn't use abortions and contraception as an excuse to separate responsibility and accountability from the sexual act.
The myth of contraception = "Free sex" = teenage mothers = more abortions = OR = children but no fathers = no Family = no prosperity = no hope = welfare state = liberal victory.
Komen does do damage to the dignity of women by sending money to Planned Parenthood.
Maternity (and women) by its very nature is the paramount of human productivity.
Why are "pro-choice" (family planning) advocates so determined to relieve (sometimes permanently) women of their most-profound, natural dignity?
Permalink Reply by Jeff Waller on February 5, 2012 at 2:32pm Well stated, but what about Komen's dishonesty?
I wish I had not made the statements I did about abortion. But it is hard for me to not say something.
While I AM pro-life, I am also anti-fraud!
Komen, right now is committing fraud.

Sorry, I think I must have gone the long way around to say:
1) For Komen to "promote" Planned Parenthood via Komen funds is on a philosophical level (at least to pro-lifers) defrauding women's trust in a supposed pro-women organization like the Komen foundation.
and
2) As you state, this defrauds the pro-life contributors to the Komen foundation. As I did state, Komen should find or fund another institution that does not provide abortion, thus avoiding the "inherent" controversy that comes with Planned Parenthood.
It is similar to Obama forcing public funds and Catholic Charities to provide abortions, contraception and support gay-rights against the conscience and teachings of the pro-life, pro-marriage public and church teachings, respectively.
AARP could be another such example: Placing liberal ideology over the good of their members.
I apologize for being too verbose, I wouldn't want to be a:
VOLVO -- Verbose Old Liberal Vexed and Outraged
Planned Parenthood receives roughly 1/3rd of it's income from federal grants and contracts. The best guess, mostly according to Planned Parenthood, is that about 10% of the services they provide are for elective abortions. According to Wikipedia, Planned Parenthood murdered approximately 300,000 children in 2009.
I've not been able to verify your statement that "only private donations go to abortion services", but knowing Planned Parenthood's proclivity for lying about their operations, I doubt the statement is true.
Permalink Reply by Sharron Deer on February 5, 2012 at 4:43pm Planned Parenthood says that about 3% of the service they provide is for abortions.

That is a lie...besides, one penny gained by fraud is wrong!
You appear to be a Newt supporter by some of your other posts.
What if Newt's campaign was giving your contributions to Romney?
Permalink Reply by Nancy Grace on February 6, 2012 at 10:13pm 3%, not 10%. Look again.
Permalink Reply by Larry Self on February 7, 2012 at 7:34am Who cares what phony percentage is used? "Planned" Parenthood is a disgrace, a blight, a cancer, an evil arm of Satan smiling all the way to the bank while pushing the "choice" to brutally drag a child from the womb, removing it feet first until only the head is left to exit and then puncturing the back of its skull and sucking out the brains before extracting the now lifeless body. This truth is also brutal.
These children are in heaven but:
Prov. 6: 16-19 These six things doth the LORD hate, yea, seven are an abomination unto Him: a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, a false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Permalink Reply by Jean C. Bender on February 5, 2012 at 5:47pm Dear Nancy,
As a pro-choice donor, what choice do you give an unborn child. Pro-choice is not an option , what other choice is there beside life or death? Abortion is punishment to one of God's creations not to a woman who made her choice to have sex.
Permalink Reply by Robert G. Ames on February 5, 2012 at 7:22pm Nancy, I fail to see the difference between "pro-choice and "pro-abortion". If you are for one, you are for the other, by default. I also don't see the difference between killing a human while still in the developing stage (embryo) and killing a human (living) while still in the development stage of life. If we regard the sanctity of life in one stage we should regard it in another stage. The taking of an human organism in whatever stage of development it is in, it categorically murder, there is no other word for it. After all we are continuously in some stage of development, from conception to death. Komen has made a serious mistake here and I for one would not support it in any way, nor would I support Planned Parenthood. It is not only against all religious doctrine, but it is against the laws of humanity. I strongly recommend everyone to cease donating to the Komen organization.
Permalink Reply by Jeff Waller on February 5, 2012 at 8:05pm And another thing, Nancy!
If you gave me money to pay my rent, first I would kiss your hand...but, it frees up the money I get from other sources to buy food, pay my utilities, or crack cocaine if that was my choice. You don't want me to spend your money on crack, do you (that is, if I was an addict, and if you knew it ahead of time)? Now what if you learned that all of the money that you gave me over the years had been used this way? You would not be a happy camper!
If I give money to Komen, who gives it to PP for cancer screenings, that frees up their resources to do something that I find is not to my liking. Shouldn't I have some say-so about what my money is used for?
