Does anyone else get tired of the constant bovine scatology that is Barack Obama speeches?

If Obama opens his mouth, you know a couple of things.  First he is lying and second what ever he is supporting hurts America.

Obama came out earlier this week and demanded the Congress end what he called “oil subsidies.”  His version of oil subsidies are tax incentives the oil industry has that encourages things like drilling and exploration.

Obama hysterically claimed that Congress had a chance to stand with the American people or with “big oil.”

If that is the choice, go big oil because Obama’s definition of the American people is certainly not the real Americans who make up this nation.

Big Oil as the bovine scatologist in chief likes to call it employs about nine million people in this nation.   Millions more have what is left of their 401(k)’s and IRA’s invested in oil stocks.   Millions more Americans own stock in these oil companies.  It is all but impossible to live in this country without using a product that directly or indirectly comes from big oil.  Most Americans are happy they have cars and have gas to put into those cars.

Obama is not happy that Americans have cars, nor is he happy that we have gas to put in our cars.  Of course, he is not a real American so his opinions should not shock anyone.

In a perfect world, the tax code would be simple and would be used only to generate the minimal amount of revenue needed to fund a limited and Constitutional government.   Unfortunately, long ago the nation decided it would use the tax code to provide incentives for certain behaviors and certain industries.  If we are going to do this, let’s give those incentives to big oil.

Why big oil?

Well among other things, the American people like the product it provides and our national security depends on a stable supply of energy.

One of the classics of literature is the story of a man who goes attacking windmills.  Obama is our Don Quixote.  Only Don Quixote was a hero and Obama is a villian.  Don Quixote attacked windmills.  Obama wants us to base our economy on windmills and pond scum.  If either of these were great ideas, the free market would have picked them up long ago.

Obama’s track record is so bad, that if he had any job in the real world he would have been fired long ago.  Perhaps that is why Obama never had a real job in the real world.

There is a huge difference between Obama and big oil.  Most Americans like big oil.  Most Americans do not like Obama.  Big oil provides something useful to America and Obama does not.

Obama lies to us again.  This is not a battle between the people of America and big oil.  This is a battle of real Americans, including those who either own or are employed by big oil, against a narcissistic wannabe dictator.

The choice is not real Americans against big oil.  It is real Americans against Barack Obama.

We must stop Obama and the Party of Treason.   For if Obama continues his war on big oil, the next big purchase a lot of real Americans may be making is a Tennessee Walking Horse.

Please, please.. can't the rest of the nation see?? whatever our national situation or crisis...all we get is a speech.. empty rhetoric.. condescending  BigDaddyisms. He's the classic example of... " I didn't come here for a job... I came here for a position!!"

We're making such clear points here... distinctions between what is insane inside the Beltway and OBlahblah's ears... but we're preaching to the choir ... we have to get to blogging... storming the phones at any and all talk shows...saying it to everybody!! bovine scatology, like rain, faLLS ON EVERYONE!! They need to heed and smell it, too!

"If Obama opens his mouth, you know a couple of things.  First he is lying and second what ever he is supporting hurts America." HA HA, love it. Don't beat around the bush Judson, tell us how you really feel.

I see and smell B.O. for what he is: a lying, smarmy, snake oil selling, three-faced politician. Only instead of snake oil he's riding his covered wagon peddling socialism as "what's good for what ails ya." We've heard and seen it all before B.O. Time for you to hit the road.

I have other facts that i think we should consider.  I don't doubt for a minute that Obama is using this to divide the country and make us hate each other, but I am not a big fan of oil companies.  I oppose corporate welfare for any Big business especially a Big business that has as much of our money as Big oil.  It is nice that they have a lot of workers but that does not give them thae right to charge excessively for their product thereby raising the prices on many products delivered throughout the country, and then tell us they can't help charging this excessive prices because of those nasty speculators and the potential disruption in the world economy.

Since the downturn in the economy the oil companies have enriched themselves at our expense in stead of acting reasonable as part of the America that has filled their coffures in good times and bad.  Then they put pretty people on T^V that tell us how much they are working hard for us.  I think they are a great example of unmitigated selfish corporate greed

In my world Big oil lies as much as Obama does so neither cares about the folks.

How in the hell are the big oil companies an example of unmitigated, selfish corporate greed?  Each oil company has as it's goal to find some oil and sell it.  If they try to price it too high, the other guy is going to undercut them, unless you believe in the commie propaganda model that they are all sitting in one room chomping on cigars trying to figure out how to screw the average peon.

Do you have any evidence that their profit margin is any bigger than any other industry, or are you just spewing nonsense because the price of gas is high?  Remember, this is exactly what Obama wanted, so we shouldn't be acting all shocked and blaming the oil companies.  The price of healthcare has continued to rise, now faster than before the stupid healthcare plan -- is this the fault of the insurance companies?  Do you expect these companies, still operating in a capitalist country at the moment, to act like socialist government-run companies or charities, and just give away their stuff?  Is this what you do in your business?

Take away the government's ability to pick winners and losers (as in the income/corporate tax code), and most of this nonsense called cronyism goes away.  Quit blaming others, and stand up for true free market capitalism.

I don't believe that Big Businesses play by the ordinary rules of small businesses in a capitalistic system.  The capitalistic system in the United States was institutionalized by Presbyters which had values that were important to them that were tied to their eternal salvation, such as treating everyone fairly , a contract was a bond of integrity, service, and a conscientious desire to produce a product you can depend on among others.  I don't believe that businesses that are very large and that determine their success on how much money they make, can consider themselves in the same moral high ground as business who think that making money is only one of the goals that is part of running a business.  In addition I don't believe that capitalism works well when there are a limited number of Big Business in one field who feign competition while they consider the advantages of what their competitors are doing to maximize their profits.  You don't need to get together to do that.

I think the idea that their is a margin of profit , like eight percent, is not a realistic number when large companies can take their profits and spread them around in perks for their ceo's and bonuses and trips for planning the future etc. and arrange the figures to show they only made an 8 percent profit.  I can't tell you the number of times the exxon company made new record profits, assisted by my tax money, since the downturn, apparently in their desire to serve the public?

I still think they are motivated only by getting as much money as they can, and if there were a lot more of them, and they were run by people who had values that underpinned their decisions like there used to be in this country, they would have to act very differently than they do now.

John:

You are right !

IN THE FINAL ANALYSIS, THERE IS NO "FAIR MARKET" WHICH WAS THE INTENTION OF THE FOUNDERS THE SAME AS A "FREE MARKET".

WE HAVE ALLOWED A BUNCH OF "PIRATES" TO DOCK THEIR SHIPS IN OUR HARBORS AND LEAVE THEIR FAMILIES AND PRPERTY HERE FOR US TO PROTECT WHILE THEY SAIL THE OCEANS TO "PLUNDER" OTHER COUNTRIES (AS WELL AS OUR OWN).

Return to The CONSTITUTION and implement it "IN WORD & DEED" !

Ron

If you are referring to big business using government connections, through contributions and perhaps outright bribery, then I can understand the point being made.  But if the insinuation is that a business is evil and greedy just because it is big, then I will have to disagree.  I can't imagine one of the founders having a business that legitimately grew into something quite large, and all of a sudden the other founders deciding he needed to be restricted in some way.

A big business does not care for people -- only the business owner or leader can do that.  If he/she chooses to not "do what Jesus would do," are we going to pass some law to force them to?  I thought we were supposed to lead by example.  You cannot legislate morality.  To blame the big business that is getting some kind of benefit from the taxpayers and ignoring the big government elephant in the room that is giving them our money doesn't make sense to me.  I would rather cut the bond between the selfish politicians and the lobbyists by sending individuals with morals to office (gool luck with that one, right!).  Of course, we all know the business will just pass the costs on to us, but I'll bet we'll still be better off because the middleman was taken out of the equation.

By the way, it is not being entirely accurate to report "record profits," as is frequently done with the big oil companies, by using the total income figure while ignoring inflation and the profit margins.  A company that sells the exact same amount of stuff every year should also be experiencing "record profits" using that analysis.  Last time I checked, the two villains of the big business model, oil companies and insurance companies, did not have very high profit margins.

JC Patriot:

I AM TALKING ABOUT "MONEY" BEING THE "FACTOR" THAT "DECIDES" WHO WILL B E THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES !

THE "PREVAILING FACTOR" AS TO "LAW CLEARING LEGAL HURDLES IN THE HOUSE & SENATE !

THE "PREVAILING FACTOR" FOR KEEPING OUR COUNTRY IN A "MONEY GAME" (FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM) THE IS SUCKING THE LIFE OUT OF THE WORTH OF THE "DOLLAR" THAT WE HAVE "INVESTED LIFE SAVINGS" FOR THE FUTURE !

CORRUPTION FROM CITY HALL TO "THE HALLS OF THE UNITED STATES CONGRESS THAT "NULLIFIES THE RULE OF LAW & THE INTENT OF THE CONSTITUTION".

THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT !

LIKE THE "UNIT MEASURE COSTS FOR MEDICAL CARE & SUPPLIES". THE "INFLATESD VALUE OF MEDICINE" (BEFORE OBAMACARE EVER RAISED ITS HEAD).

"THIEVERY OF THE HIGHEST ORDER".......I HAVE SEEN IT ALL OF MY 67 YEARS !

Ron

P.S. "Profit" no hell....I am not against profit.....but I have complete contempt for armed robbery!

Thank you Ron.

Thanks, Ron, but my reply was to the one above yours.  I cannot disagree with anything you wrote, but I think we are on two completely different subjects.

One thing I can say regarding what you wrote is about the inflated value of medicine we have today.  Remember, we are paying for the healthcare of others against our will.  Also, the free market competition began to leave medicine in the 1960's when the government became more involved.  Notice that medicine, oil, and insurance are the most heavily-regulated industries, and yet we ignore the fact that beaurocratic interventions never make things cheaper.  That's why it makes no sense to me to keep harping on the businesses rather than the government's meddling in their business at our expense.  When I see others doing so, I cannot help but think this is part of the C-P strategy to divide us, just as they attempt to do with race.

The armed robbery you speak of is only possible with connections that guarantee business no matter what the price.  Most of the time, the enabler is not the "evil" corporations, but the beaurocrats themselves.
