It is so tough when you are an anti American President. When you hate Israel and want to do everything you can to damage Israel, but need the Jewish vote to get reelected, it is just a tough spot for Barack Obama to be.
From the Financial Times:
Exactly a year ago this week, President Barack Obama stood at the podium at the UN General Assembly and declared his support for a Palestinian state.
“Palestinians will never know the pride and dignity that comes with their own state,” Mr Obama told the general assembly, unless the two parties reached a peace agreement.
So it will be some degree of awkwardness that Mr Obama returns to the UN this week and directs his representatives to vote against a plan that would lead to Palestinians achieving that exact destination, albeit by a different route.
Indeed, the US president will be acutely aware how hypocritical he must appear: voicing support for democratic transitions across the Middle East at the same time as scuppering Palestinian aspirations for recognition. Mr Obama hardly wants to be seen as being on the wrong side of the change sweeping through the Arab world.
Palestinian leaders this week plan to make a bid for full membership of the UN, a move that would officially make it a state, Palestine, on an equal footing with Israel. But the US has explicitly stated that it will use its veto power through the Security Council to block any such move.
Obama cannot win without the support of Jewish voters and he is tanking with them.
From the Hill.
The president's speech also comes at a critical time for Obama in terms of domestic politics. Obama is facing new doubts about whether he can win a second term, and the loss of a seemingly safe House seat in New York City last week, caused by the defection of conservative Jewish voters, has raised questions about the level of support Obama has with a traditional Democratic group of voters.
Obama entered office in 2009 promising to reset relations between the U.S. and the Arab world, and some of his actions have unsettled supporters of Israel.
A spring speech this year in which he said a peace settlement must be based on Israel's 1967 borders set off a public battle between the White House and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Republicans are now looking to make inroads with Jewish voters.
One of the great political disconnects has always been the overwhelming support Jewish voters give the Democrat party, while the Republicans are the ones who offer overwhelming support for Israel. Now, things are getting so bad for Obama, his disastrous policies may create electoral realignment.
Obama’s lasting legacy could be a Republican majority for a generation or more.

The Democratic Party has been very very skillful in misrepresenting their true nature over the years.
This president has done more damage to the state of Israel than all the wars combined and by destabilizing the region has put the continued existence of Israel in dire jeopardy. Our Incompetent-Boob-In-Charge has never had a gun held to his head and stared death square on; the people of Israel do so each and every day. When one is pushed to that point, one will do what one must do in order to survive. And the eight-hundred-pound gorilla in the room is the open secret that Israel is a nuclear power and will not hesitate to defend itself if faced with overwhelming odds.
We can only hope that this Moron-On-A-String is removed from office and damned soon!

Our Moron-On-A-String is an unsubstantial, treacherous fool who has no real guiding principles. He, his handlers and his minions covet America but detest Americans.

They WILLFULLY choose to remain UNINFORMED. And even now (based on personal knowledge - being the 'token' republican in a LIBJERK congregation) are working even now to advance Obama's agenda regarding the middle east! These TRAITORS are in affect working to subvert Israel, & the USA ... and that is 'after' Obama's Jews have no values ... and ISrael go back to pre 1967 speech.

I have met a few of the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) who can make believers of anyone; they face reality up close and personal every day. A dog rolls over on its back as an act of submission and non-aggression.
Any Florida alligator knows that exposing the belly is certain death.
There were those in Europe who took the same position with the rise of National Socialism; i.e. non-aggressive submission. Once National Socialism was firmly in place, these were the first to get their one way tickets to Auschwitz and Dachau.
Evil cannot be appeased. It must be confronted and defeated or it will consume everyone and everything in its path.
