To err is human but to really screw things up you need a fast food chain trying to make a political statement.
They did and boy did they screw up.
Who is it?
It is Arby’s.
Last week, in an effort to make a political statement, Arby’s announced it would no longer advertise on the Rush Limbaugh show.
Houston, we have a problem. Arby’s has never advertised on the Rush Limbaugh show.
There was a time when conservatives would simply endure slights like this but no more. Rush immediately tweeted back that Arby’s had never been an advertiser on his show.
Oops.
There is nothing like someone stepping in it, and then tracking it all over the carpeting and that is exactly what Arby’s did.
Outraged conservatives went onto Arby’s Twitter feed and expressed their displeasure. Arby’s promptly blocked them.
Oops.
During the weekend, Arby’s quietly unblocked them but the damage is done. Many conservatives have spent their last dime at Arby’s.
I certainly have.
I for one am tired of these corporations who are not only gutless but who spit on conservative Americans.
On Arby’s FaceBook page, conservatives continue to express their opinions and they are a costumer service nightmare.
Aww, isn’t that terrible? A liberal thought they would score points and instead end up with some really bad roast beef all over their face.
Here is a memo to idiot liberal managers at major corporations. Conservatives make up about 43% of the American population. Liberals only make up 21%. Let’s see, if you want to pander to a group do you want to pander to a larger group or a smaller group?
Perhaps a better way of putting it is do you want to offend a group that makes up almost half of America?
Arby’s is not the only dumb company. Coke folded like a cheap suit when the racist group the Color of Change complained that Coke was a corporate supporter the American Legislative Exchange Council.
ALEC is a great organization, which helps advance a conservative agenda.
That is why the radical left wing groups, like the racist group the Color of Change is so adamantly against ALEC.
Coke is another company that conservatives are now ignoring. I just discovered an excellent alternative to Coke. It is called Cheerwine. It is a southern soft drink, cherry flavored. The diet version of the drink is very attractive if you have high blood pressure since it has no sodium.
For both companies, there political adventures have been a disaster for both of them. Costumer service reps are taught to ask, “What will it take to make this right?” Here’s what it will take for Arby’s to make it right. First an apology and then they need to advertise on Rush Limbaugh’s show (assuming he will have them). Coke needs to restore its support to ALEC.
Until those things happen, I’m not going to buy Coke products and I don’t care how hungry I am, Arby’s is off the menu.

Walgreens caves to Media Matters-orchestrated Rush ‘boycott’

. . .which is too bad because some of their "own" products are as good as or better than name brand products/cheaper too.
Permalink Reply by Thomas Angle on April 9, 2012 at 12:57pm I boycotted all the boycotters and do not plan on purchasing anything from them no matter what they do.
Permalink Reply by Barbara Eichhorst on April 9, 2012 at 1:00pm Very glad to rec. this email. Arbys has lost 2 very good customers & will have to find an alternative to Coke. Husband doesn't like the taste of Pepsi but will no longer buy Coke products. What a shame the 2 companys have to lean so far to the left & exclude so many of us. When we hear an opology, we might come back.
Permalink Reply by Doug Nicholson on April 9, 2012 at 3:04pm I have been a "Coke-aholic" for years, but because of Coke's action, I'm buying a SodaStream brand soda maker for my home. This company is based in Israel and SodaStream even offers something Coke doesn't...a cola that's caffeine free and sweetened with Splenda instead of that awful NutraSweet Coke uses in their diet sodas.

Permalink Reply by Clarence E. DeBarrows on April 9, 2012 at 1:01pm There's another good reason to not shop at Walgreen's, Nancy. Just about everything in the place, including their "own" products are made in China. Do our Country a favor and check labels. Buy American made products whenever possible. Pay a little more and just maybe it will help save our Republic.
Nancy, do you mean Walgreens, or Walmart. Walmart is known for having everthing made in China. Just want to make sure.

Walgreens is the store mentioned in the Michelle Malkin article I posted up top that has succumbed to Media Matters and Clarence makes a great point about foreign made products--that should be applied to everywhere we shop shouldn't it!
Permalink Reply by Linny Redd on April 10, 2012 at 3:11am I think Walgreen and Walmart are connected somehow.
Permalink Reply by Nancy on April 9, 2012 at 1:04pm Would you mind sharing that list with all of us--it would be great (and could also pass it along)--thanks for your consideration :)

Below is the list of advertisers who have publicly stated that they will no longer run ads on Rush Limbaugh’s program:
