The shooter has been taken into custody and let’s hope he gets the death penalty he richly deserves.
Congressman Giffords was a liberal, but that does not matter now. No one should be the victim of violence because of their political beliefs and certainly a member of Congress should not be shot and killed on a street corner.
Take a moment to say a prayer for her and her family, as well as the others who were so tragically murdered this afternoon.
At a time like this, it is terrible that we do have to think about politics, but no matter what the shooter’s motivations where, the left is going to blame this on the Tea Party Movement. Already on liberal websites, the far left is trying to accuse the Tea Party of being involved.
While we need to take a moment to extend our sympathies to the families of those who died, we cannot allow the hard left to do what it tried to do in 1995 after the Oklahoma City bombing.
Within the entire political spectrum, there are extremists, both on the left and the right. Violence of this nature should be decried by everyone and not used for political gain.
UPDATE: At the time this was written, all the major news outlets were reporting Congressman Giffords had died. As of 3:10 CST, Doctors are now saying they are optimistic she will recover. As tragic as this situation is, I think we can all be happy that the Congressman survived this terrorist attack.
Yes, there is a wrong time to discuss strategy and that is when the country is mourning a dreadful act and when they respectfully grieve, it is the wrong time to put the wrong public face on where our concerns are at this terrible time. There is a time and a place for what we need to look at for the future, but it is NOT NOW. We are not pagans, we are God fearing Americans and I want the world to know that I am spending my time and efforts reaching out to those victims of this tragedy and not seeing what advantage I can take or what revenge I can get in this great time of national sorrow, but rather how we ALL can keep things from this happening again. We spend so much time assuming things that may or may not ever come to pass that we forget to be human beings FIRST.
I understand where you are coming from. We as Americans will always care for our sick and injured, mourn our dead, give a helping hand tothe needed. But we will never let our guard down and be vulnerable to attack

Why is it called a terrorist attack? The muslim who shouted ala ak bar who killed in the name of alla wasn't called an extremist or even a terrorist. It's a shame Ms Gifford got attacked. Sad indeed innocent people got hurt and others killed. I wonder if the same energy would be given if Ms Palin was attacked or even a Republican. This nut had no affiliations as far as anyone knows. He was a nut who practiced the occult, so what does Tea Party or anyone else for that matter get tagged with negative press? The left including LaRaza and other leftest groups are saying attack, riot, and create civil unrest. No press on this issue. SO I want to say to Tea Party it's unfair and incorrect to label this nut an extremist. You want to know what extremist are look at the radical muslims and LaRaza.
Blessings and prayers to Ms. Gifford and family and all others injuried in this tragic incident.
Why is it called a terrorist attack?
Because of the ridiculous Political Correctness that has invaded our once strong and free nation.
The reason the lamestream media can so easily flagellate this murderer as a terrorist is because he is white. White people have been programmed to accept any degree of mutilation of character because everything wrong with the world is because of white people. In the PC world, indoctrinated by the Left, whites are the only race capable of racism. All other races are unknowing and defenseless victims of its persecution.
Had this been a Muslim of Islamic extremism he would be protected and coddled just as Hasan was. If this was a black man shooting Giffords it would have been described as racism, by white people of course, causing him to act out so violently. If it were a Mexican, or God forbid an Illegal Alien, we might still be waiting for his name and picture to even be revealed. The only thing preventing this from being exploited even further by the media is that Giffords is white. Had she been black, Mexican (even an Illegal Alien) or other Latino persuasion, Asian or other race then jerod Loughner, we (especially the TEA Party) and the white race would be smeared as racist, bigoted, hate-mongering, "vitriol" filled, violent, gun toting, bible thumping Christian, xenophobic,Conservative terrorists.
Our allowance of Political Correctness to permeate our society has created a journalistic cornucopia of slandering blame, of course, in the name of social justice and equality. Murder with its myriad degrees has been expanded into the PC univers to further "label" the accused for the benefit of the media. Now, not only can a murder be first-degree or second-degree, it can also be racially motivated, gender propagated or Creed driven (especially if it happens to be Christian).
This is the level we have allowed our society to deteriorate. Murder is murder. Regardless of intent, premeditation or motive, the end result is a death. But in our pervasive society we have allowed the lawyers and courts to bastardize a crime to satisfy the PC proponents. Today, not only is the criminal guilty but also the whole race he or she represent. The illusion of totality has been accepted and fawned over to please the PC retardation.
This event in Arizona is a perfect example of how far we have allowed the confusion and guilt of PC to consume us. No longer is a murder simply between the criminal and victim. It has been expanded as a social justice message to society and allowed to expand to whatever level of political correctness the involved media or organizations feel it needs to be. And more importantly it has infiltrated the political spectrum. Projection and accusation is commonly used well before any facts are known. The dementia posterboy, Sheriff Dupnik, and Representative Lopez are perfect examples of this. THEIR hate filled "vitriol" was spewing from their mouths before anyone even knew anything about the case. And the lamestream media loved it!
This in a nutshell is why this is being called a terrorist attack. Not because he's nuts, but rather because of Political Correctness.
JUST A THOUGHT HERE
Has anyone thought that this event was an attempt to side track Boggers from discussions of vital issues or Congress from doing their job in repealing the Healthcare bill?
Am I the only one thinking of this? YES! This shooting was really bad and I pray for the families of those who died, and their souls, but also for the Congresswoman who was spaired and saved from Death.
Is anyone thanking, praising and giving credit to God that she was saved?
This sad event does not mean:
1. We take Guns away from people or make new Laws!
Guns do not kill! PEOPLE KILL, If Law enforcement will do their job and inforce the current Gun Laws we will see a decrease in crimes. If Homeland Security will do their job and inpower the Border Patrol to do their job such as Lock and Load aim and fire when needed, we will see less illegals crossing the border and the United States will be sending more Mexican Military back across the border in body bags.
what do we know from this tragic event?
There is a call to create New Gun Laws (THEY LIE)
There is blame that it was a Right Winger who fired shots THEY LIE)
Can I suggest that when Congressmen and Senators visit their districts, that they have more protection and stand behind Bullet Proof Glass and that people attending the events even in areas where guns are allowed that they leave them home and that to enter the area to hear the speaker, who ever it might be that they are checked before entering an secured area?
This is not unconstitutional, it protects the lives of our elected. But because of an event as this, Taking guns away is no solution to the problem.
