If Republicans had any brains, this election would have one simple theme. Are you better off now than you were six years ago, when Republicans last controlled the government?
For many Americans, there is a much more compelling question to ask that could sweep Republicans not only into control of the government but with a supermajority.
What is the question?
The question is, are your children better off now than they were six years ago?
The question is not a hypothetical question.
The American dream is to work hard and send your kids to college, where they will live the American dream. Thanks to the Great Obama Depression, one out of every two college graduates this year will not have a job when they graduate in May.
If the fifty percent have a job, they are not employed in a job that requires a college degree. Even those with jobs are seeing a slide in their salaries.
Compare this to where we were six years ago.
For the classes of 2006 and 2007, the employment rate following graduation was 90%!
What is the difference?
It is the Great Obama Depression.
Thanks to the Obama, Pelosi, Reid axis of fiscal evil, in other words, thanks to the Democrats running the government since 2007, we have seen our economy crash.
Perhaps the more important question to ask is do the Republicans really want win this election?
Back in 1980, the moment that really turned that election was when Ronald Reagan asked Americans if they were better off now than they were four years earlier.
The economy is the most crucial issue of this election. The numbers are staggering. Few, other than hard-core liberals, believe the unemployment rate is really 8.2 percent. If the unemployment statistics were calculated the way they were during the great depression, the unemployment rate would be over 16 percent!
Every American, whether you are the richest or the poorest has a common dream. We want our children to do better than we did. We want our children to have a better life than we have had.
What we do not want is to have our children living with us when they are 25 or 30 because they cannot find a job and make their way in the world. There is a reason why Obama wants to keep children on their parents insurance until they are 26. He wants to destroy the economy and make this generation the lost generation of American wealth.
He wants to make this upcoming generation unemployed and unemployable.
Why?
If he can create a generation totally dependent on the government, liberty dies. We have seen this in Europe. There are so many groups that are totally dependent on government handouts; it is impossible to do anything. Greece circles to the giant toilet bowl of economic anarchy because they have so many people dependent on the government, from civil servants to pensioners, that they cannot cut.
This is the Obama dream for America.
The Republicans are totally clueless about messaging. This is the message that crushes the Democrats. With one out of every two college graduates this year either unemployed or underemployed and with a majority of Americans with children or grandchildren either in college or looking at college in the next few years, we want a future.
We want our children to have a future.
The Obama future is poverty. The Republicans, if they would message it right, can offer a future of real hope and prosperity.
So are your kids better off now than they were six years ago?

Permalink Reply by Juls on The working world has long preferred degreed candidates. A college diploma was the gold ring. Experience, talent and expertise were no longer enough to compete successfully in the job market. Even as it became more and more apparent that our education system was a joke, that the gold ring was tarnished and that too many degreed candidates were woefully unprepared to do the job, the fact remained that having a degree is what gave you a foot in the door.
Young people have been accessing higher education by the droves because employers have demanded it even when there was no justification for it. Like anything else the more prevelant something becomes the less value it has. These days, the college grad has a 50/50 chance that the only thing their degree is apt to get them is a foot in the unemployment line. Very sad.
