The Republican Party stands at the abyss. Either they are going to be a conservative party or they are going to be a party of big government statists, who simply compete with the other guys to see who can control big government.
How will we know if they are serious?
On July 11th, the House is going to vote on the Obamacare repeal. The repeal vote is a foregone conclusion. Probably every Republican and a few endangered Democrats will vote to repeal Obamacare.
Does anyone remember January 2011?
The Republicans held their first vote and it was to repeal Obamacare. The House bill passed overwhelmingly. It went to the Senate where Harry Reid and the Party of Treason made sure it died quickly.
After that, the Republican leadership shrugged their collective shoulders, said, “we tried,” then went on to the next item of business which was spending more money than Nancy Pelosi did while she was speaker.
The Republicans in the House were able to return to their districts and tell their voters, “We tried but that damned Harry Reid stopped us.”
Unfortunately far too many people bought that.
If the Republicans were serious about repealing Obamacare, they would have to do more than just a vote. There are a number of strategies, starting with holding up bills in the House to force the Senate to act.
But the Republican leadership did none of that. All they wanted was their symbolic vote so they could go home and say, “See we tried.”
Now we face the disaster of a Mitt Romney nomination.
Romney only wants to repeal Obamacare so he can replace it with Romneycare. If you read his plan, he wants to act just like Obama by trying to repeal Obamacare by executive order instead of having Congress repeal the law. What Romney should be saying is that he wants the new Republican controlled House and Senate to have a bill repealing Obamacare waiting on him and as soon as he is sworn in, he will sign the bill.
Someone needs to tell Mitt what the Constitution says.
Mitt Romney’s plan is called “Repeal and Replace.”
Here is a plan for the Republicans to consider. Repeal and let the free market work.
Want to bring down costs? Figure out ways to make insurance companies compete with each other. Eliminate the prohibitions against purchasing insurance across state lines. (Here’s a hint to the Republicans. That is interstate commerce, which is a power given to the Federal Government.)
Just in case anyone missed it, the big insurance companies do not want competition. If there is no competition, they can charge what ever they want and do not have to be competitive. They also do not like lawsuits because they will actually have to pay out damages, which is why people buy insurance to begin with.
In the next few days, we will see how serious the GOP is. If they are simply going to do another symbolic vote so they can go home and say, “I voted to repeal,” and “Vote against the Democrats because they would not repeal,” then we know where they really are.
A few days ago, I spoke with a major Republican Congressman in DC and I told this Congressman we were sick and tired of the games. We do not simply want “Votes.” We want success. We want to make this happen.
If the Republican leadership only wants to play games, then the people can do that too.

Permalink Reply by Thomas Angle on July 10, 2012 at 12:26pm Debrajoe, what exactly has the republicans done to stop the democrats? Please explain? If nothing, what do we gain from electing them?
Just a note, all spending starts in the House. Remember that before you answer.
Permalink Reply by Billy Bowlegs on July 10, 2012 at 12:36pm Here is one Republican that is working her ass off to stop Obozo.
Does this ring any bells about lies, cheating, stealing, fraud, EO's that are treasonous. And possibly, the fact that many of us would rather see ROMNEY in the WH than Obama. No one else has a candidate with enough fire power (money money money for those that do not understand firepower in today's election process) to win over OBOZO.
But given this two day old case in the SCOTUS - get braced. You are in for one hell of a big run in the next few days. May even be Martial Law and no damned election in November. This is what most of you reading this forum forget to remember.
The absolute best you could do for a Patriot would be to log into Orly Taitz Site and donate to help this dear Patriot pay for all the costs she is incurring.
http://www.orlytaitzesq.com/ and find the DONATE Button.
This is the absolute best anyone has done to-date in corraling OBOZO.
If you can recalll any of the crap fed to Orly Taitz by Judges, recall her frequent trips to Hawaii to retrieve data.
A number of patriots doing research found that a baby girl had died in Hawaii on August 5th, 1961. Her toomstone picture was discovered as a grave in the Punch Bowl (child of a Veteran). We located a younger brother and discussed the family getting a copy of her August 4th, 1961 birth certificate. Orly and several team members flew to Hawaii with equipment to validate the BC of Virginia Sunahari born August 4, 1961. Even though law states clearly that the family can retrieve a copy of a family member BC, the state refused to Give DUNCAN Sunahari the birth certificate, just the standard OBAMA short form style.
Interestingly, the number on the retrieved BC was 245 (approximately), later than those on the 4th of August 1961. (Their forgery is a rolling effect, from one dead baby BC number to the next hoping they will not have to answer).
The point is that Orly Taitz flew to Hawaii on her own NICKLE many times to save our Nation and your ASS and My ASS from communism.
Helping Orly now may stall off MARTIAL LAW and save your BACON (trying to be a little more polite).

Permalink Reply by Wade Joseph on July 11, 2012 at 6:04am Spending starts with Oblamo...This administration has not passed a budget in three years. What we seriously need to do is spend the next 3 months ousting this corrupt regime in control, then the next 4 years building strength as a viable political party and remove all 537 of them and replace with some new blood and term limits for all.
Permalink Reply by Thomas Angle on July 11, 2012 at 7:23am No. according to the Constitution all spending starts in the House. See the very first sentence in Article 1 Section 7 of the US Constitution. The House has went along with everything Obama has wanted. The mainstream republicans are not interested in stopping him at all.
Thomas, Newt Gingrich has warned us about congress' complicity, starting in the 1970's, but falling on deaf ears. He continued his quest. That's why by the 90's they had to destroy or force him out, for fear of exposure.
Nothing has changed since then.
Permalink Reply by Thomas Angle on July 11, 2012 at 8:00am It started long before the 70's.
I know that. I just went back to the 70's to point out that the right candidate was screwed once again. And that is why today, we have this dilemma with the election.

Permalink Reply by Debrajoe Smith-Beatty on July 10, 2012 at 12:53pm William you may be right, however, with Romney as president we don't have to listen to lies from Obama and we don't have to look or listen to that person he calls his wife.
It gags me to write this, but O'Romney will be the GOP nominee. Therefore the tack for the Tea Party is to campaign hard and fill the house and senate with our ilk so we can control the big government liberal Romney. Then, in January, 2013, we must immediately begin forming the National Tea Party. As the Republican party replaced the Whigs over states rights in 1850, so now the Tea Party must replace the GOP. I nominate Judson Phillips as the Chairman of the new National Tea Party which will win the White House, Senate, and House in 2016.
