As a Yemeni national who immigrated to America under unknown circumstances, sits in federal detention after trying force his way into the cockpit of an American Airlines flight, another shocking incident has come to light.
This was not a terrorist incident, though it certainly could lead to one.
The State Department has announced a computer glitch has voided the results of the Visa lottery. No, we are not talking about the credit card company.
The State Department annually conducts a lottery. The purpose of the lottery is to increase immigration from countries that traditionally have low rates of immigration to the United States.
All someone has to do is apply and if they get lucky they are coming to America.
Would someone please tell our government this is not the Powerball!
While with most visa applicants, there has to be a showing that someone will sponsor them and in theory keep them off of welfare. Not with the visa lottery. It does not matter if you have no skills to contribute to America or have a chronic illness that requires expensive medical care, if you win the lottery; you get a visa and a shot at permanent residency in America.
When you ask what is wrong with this picture, you need to start with the brainchild of this disaster. None other than Ted Kennedy.
We know any idea Kennedy came up with was a bad idea.
No one can forget what else Ted Kennedy did for his country. In 1984, Kennedy tried to get help from the Soviet Union to work against Ronald Reagan’s reelection effort. Kennedy wanted the Soviets to help him and the Democrats defeat Reagan and then there would be “peace in our time.”
The visa lottery is a fraud-ridden program. Just the known fraud is staggering with much of the fraud coming from such wonderful countries as, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egypt and the Sudan. All of those countries have very active jihadist movements.
In 2005, the House voted to kill the program, but the Senate, probably at the behest of Ted Kennedy never took it up, so the program lived. In 2009, both the House and Senate voted to kill the program but it mysteriously reappeared in the final budget that was passed.
If you look at other developed countries, almost none of them have such a silly program. In almost every other developed country, if you want to immigrate, you must have money and have a desired skill.
In America, you can just get lucky, immigrate here and then who knows what. You can live on welfare or become a jihadist. There is no requirement that an immigrant offer anything of value to America.
Someone needs to tell our government the lottery is something we play at the convenience store. It is not an opportunity for jihadists to come to America.

How long are we going to take before "cleaning house"? Can we afford to wait? Everyday our rights & freedoms are being challenged by those that want nothing but to see America destroyed.
For every illegal that for whatever reason is given citizenship - they too receive a "vote" to cast in all elections. Who do you think they will remember as to whom gave them legal status herein?
This has been in use for both sides of the "fence" and should not had been tolerated.
Can we trust those that we have elected to do there jobs or for giving all Americans the TRUTH and establishing a "transparency" of what really goes on behind "closed doors".....

We, the People, of the United States of America, are the most unique people, in the most unique Republic in the world. We are the first ever to have Rule from the bottom up.
Somewhere our elected have forgotten this. They all have sworn to uphold our Constituion, yet if they have but read it, this woud be known to them.
It is "We", who decide what our Nation does or does not do. Our Federal government is but an Agent to our Fifty States. An Agent that can be replaced when it no longer represents the will of the people of those States.
Those fifty States, are but fifty Independent Nations, united under a "Common Charter" that we call our "Constitution." We, the People, have always reserved the right to replace any government when it no longer represents the will of its people, and therefore it is the people, from the bottom up, who rule this Nation of ours.
If the need arises, and it seems to be, we all must be willing to do as requested in our Declaration of Independence, and do as is required of us and place our honor and our duty at risk, along with our money and our lives, to keep this precious thing we call Freedom, or we, the people, are not worthy of the title,"Americans."
