When Obama was running for President, he promised electricity prices would necessarily skyrocket.

The coal industry is crying foul over new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations which they say will be among the most be costly rules ever imposed by the agency on coal-fueled power plants.
The result, industry insiders say: substantially higher electricity rates and massive job loss.
“The EPA is ignoring the cumulative economic damage new regulations will cause,” said Steve Miller, president and CEO of the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE). “America’s coal-fueled electric industry has been doing its part for the environment and the economy, but our industry needs adequate time to install clean coal technologies to comply with new regulations. Unfortunately, EPA doesn’t seem to care.”
Thursday the EPA announced that they have finalized additional Clean Air Act provisions, collectively known as “The Cross-State Air Pollution Rule” to ostensibly “reduce air pollution and attain clean air standards,” by requiring coal companies in 27 states to slash emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide by 73 percent and 54 percent, respectively, from 2005 levels by 2014.
While the EPA’s alleged benefits are lofty, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton cautioned that the new rules will come with a hefty price.
“The goal for these rules should be reasonable regulation that protects public health and the environment while also preserving economic growth. Unfortunately, the unprecedented pace at which the administration is issuing major new rules that impose new costs and regulatory requirements on states, employers, and consumers fails that basic test,” said Upton. “By issuing multiple regulations for the energy and other sectors at such an accelerated rate, EPA has turned regulation from a manageable tool into an unpredictable moving target that makes it difficult for companies to invest and create jobs.”
The coal industry has the same practical concerns.
An analysis ACCCE released earlier this month by the National Economic Research Associates (NERA) used government data to examine the combined impacts of today’s rule and another EPA electricity regulation, the “Utility MACT” Rule. According to NERA’s examination, the EPA’s actions would cause a net job loss of over 1.4 million job-years by 2020.

The Obama regime is going to impose environmental restrictions that are going to skyrocket the cost of energy and cost up to 1.4 million Americans their jobs.
This is the Obama regime’s idea of progress.

I sound very selfish, I know, but it gets very hot where I live in the summer & the winters it gets quite cold. We simply have given up using our Air Conditioner & Furnace b/c we couldn't afford to pay the bills. Being on in age, I would bet that we will be called up first to be interviewed by these stupid death panels.
Are people so dumb that they cannot see what is happening in our country? I don't care whether you are a Democrat or a Republican...anyone with a brain in their head can see that The Liar-In-Chief is up to no good. And I should add, the Republicans have done their fair share of harm. However, I never felt they were out to destroy our country like I do with BIG BROTHER in the White House!!!

Remember Billy-Jeff Clinton, as one of his last acts, reduced the Arsenic content of drinking water by some 80% from the levels he was perfectly happy during his last 4 years in office, after the EPA proposed the new standards in 1996. Not a peep from the press.
But when Bush opposed these new regulations, the LSM accused him of mass murder.

Permalink Reply by Elizabeth Shea on I just read a "Readers' Comment" in a magazine and it applies to all of our issues with Obama. The writer is unaware of what we are working on -- perhaps, we need to vocalize more so that others don't think we are hibernating.
The person wrote, "Speaking of the Tea Party....why isn't the Tea Party openly discussing Obama's obvious ineligibility and his many other crimes? The Tea Party has come...and gone, and ignored the only issue that really matters."
We at Tea Party Nation are discussing all of it, but nonmembers are not hearing about it. How can we get more publicity about our actions, such as the ads in Wis. to support Republicans who are dealing with Recall Elections.
And how can we address this Energy Crisis which Obama is hitting us with -- and get some publicity while doing it?
