An Open Letter to Newt Gingrich
Mr. Speaker,
I endorsed you back in September. You were polling at about 5% back then. At the time, you were doing everything right and you shot to the top of the polls. When I endorsed you, I believed you were not only the best candidate to be the next President but really the only candidate who offered us any hope that we could roll back the damage done by the Obama, Pelosi, Reid axis of fiscal evil.
That was then and this is now.
Your campaign is sinking faster than an Italian Cruise ship. I don’t know if anyone is telling you what is going on in your campaign but right now it is a disaster.
Last week, I was in Florida with the Tea Party Express tour. At the events, other campaigns had surrogates. By default, I became yours. I did not mind, but your campaign should have had someone there. While I was at the events in Florida, Romney supporters were there with signs, Ron Paul supporters with signs and Rick Santorum supporters with signs. Your supporters were there. They asked me for signs.
Because there was no one from your campaign attending, there were no signs to give. They could not get signs anywhere.
In short, your campaign in Florida was in complete disarray. And it isn’t just Florida.
After I endorsed you back in September, I contacted the campaign. I asked for contacts in Tennessee so I could what I could to help. I waited for weeks and despite repeated calls and emails, no one would return a call.
If this were a unique experience, it wouldn’t matter. My ego is not that large. However, my experience is not unique. I have spoken to people across the nation who have had the exact same experience. You now have disillusioned supporters all across the nation. You have a staff that is not only not helping you, it is actively injuring your campaign.
There are some good people in your campaign. I have met several of them. There are some people in your campaign that simply need to be fired. Yesterday.
You are an amazing man. You inspire people. So much so that there is a whole group of your supporters who are ready to go rogue right now and start a shadow campaign apart from the official one in order to get you elected. Right now, if you are elected, it will be despite your campaign staff, not because of it.
You are the only candidate who has united an entire divided Republican audience and you have done it twice. Romney does not inspire anyone. Truthfully, neither does Santorum.
You can limp through the votes on Tuesday and make an honorable exit on Wednesday.
Or you can fight.
We want you to fight.
You need a strategy and your brain trust is not delivering it for you.
Here is my suggestion.
You cannot fight Romney one on one. He has too much money. Your goal is not simply to become President. That is Mitt Romney’s goal. Your goal is to change America and restore it. You have an agenda. The problem is, it is your agenda.
You need a team and a team agenda.
This is what you did with Contract with America in 1994.
You need to find a team of 100 or more conservatives who are running for either the Congress or the Senate this year.
Form a team.
You will need a team if you become President, so form it now. Put together a legislative contract with America. This is something your new Congress will promise to vote on within 100 days of being elected and these are bills you will sign as soon as they hit your desk.
You need to bring these people on to your team. Romney might be able to outspend you one on one, he cannot beat you if you have one hundred Congressional and Senatorial candidates on your team. If you make this election about your plan, Romney cannot stand. He cannot outspend one hundred people running for Congress and the Senate. He cannot out organize you if you have this type of team on the ground.
If you make this not just a race about you, but a race about the future of America, you can still pull this out.
The choice is yours. You can clean house and get rid of the people that are offending the grass roots activists that want to help you and who are doing you no good or not. You have inspired people who are willing to help you and even run a campaign outside of your official campaign if that is what it takes.
Your campaign is not working. The first rule, when you are in a hole, quit digging.
You need to do something. The choice is yours.
You can fight or you can let Romney win.

Santorum is a true conservative who will end abortion, end birth control, give control back to the states, put those gays back in the closet or into the confessional his religion has for sinners; and make our country great - for people who are true americans.

Newt is the absolute NON-insider! That is why the big GOP elite and left-leaning group are scared of him.
He is no one's Boy. He will get in and change things no matter who is against him. Try thinking about it and maybe you will realize this. Keep in mind what the progressive agenda is. They do not want anyone "IN" that is going to change that. They want to keep things as they are, and have someone in office that will go along with the status quo (Like timid mitt).

The plunge is attributable to the fact that Dr. Jekyll turned into Mr. Hyde. As soon as he started getting attention and climbing up to the top of the heap, he turned nasty. Prior to that he was simply the logical, polite, smart, complimenting Republican, with a single-minded focus on sticking it to Obama. Then, for whatever reason, he went bombastic and insulting and accusatory and mean-spirited on his own party. Well, on Romney specifically. And when he went anti-capitalism on Romney's wealth, well, that was the last straw for a lot of us. Newt is cooked. He's done. He needs to pull out, cool off, disappear for a while, and come back in a few months to throw his endorsement behind Romney... lest this country go down in flames under four more years of Obama.
Permalink Reply by sandy crawford on Sorry Mike, I think we will go down in flames if we stick with Romney. He is another McCain. Most Tea Partiers that I know do not like the smooth talking Romney. His Pac started the nasty attacts. Newt was doing great until Romney's adds put out a bunch of junk. Now he is fighting back. Romney is not going to make the kind of changes we need. Newt will. If I have to work for Romney to beat Obama, it will be difficult like it was when we tried to get McCain elected. The only reason I could do anything was because of Sara Paln. A lot of the Tea Partiers just won't work for Romney..
Mike, did you not notice Newt was sticking to the issues until Romney absolutely buried him in nastiness in Iowa? To leave the charges unanswered would have been the same as surrender.
As far as sticking it to the press, he only said publicly what a lot of us have been saying for years.
Permalink Reply by Susan Petrey on I will not vote for Romney.. We can NOT send a RINO to DC. Conservatives (especially the south) are very suspicious of Romney. And when you consider how his has proven he will say and do anything to win this election (including paying off campaign workers, subverting the system by having cronies contribute to Santorum super-pac) he is NOT an option. The Tea Party will cease to be a viable voice in America if they are in any way seen as supporters of a candidate like Romney. Beating Obama with a man like Romney will not solve any of the dire issues we face (particularly debt and spending) .. in fact, it could actually be WORSE because he will be hiding his big government agenda under the cloak of the Republican party. Besides that .. it will be a KILLER down ballot, costing conservative seats in the south and midwest because the turnout will be terrible for Romney! Wise up.. Newt may not be the perfect candidate for the Tea-Party, but he is the best candidate in the race. We NEED TO CONSOLIDATE and end this 'rise' of Mitt. Romney will be the death of the current GOP (and Tea-Party) if we go that route. I will NOT participate in that.

First of all, it isn't hard to get angry when you are lied about. Anyone would defend their self.
Second, Newt is not anti-capitalist. He was against the way Romney went about his business. It wasn't about Capitalism, it was about what Romney did to the little people for his own gain.
Third, Can you say that Romney isn't insulting? He does have a bigger smile on his face when he does it, and he fails to take responsibility for his aggressive negative ads and blames his super-pac.
Personally, I hope he doesn't cool off. This country is on life support and it is worth fighting for. Someone needs to point out Romney's failures, though I must agree that he should focus on the deceiver we have now.

Permalink Reply by sandy crawford on My petition for delegate (at large) for Newt was approved. I got a call from a guy (Bob) from Nashville TN. who ask me and Wilis Ayres another delegate to help in Newt's campaign which we agreed to do. We are putting together a team to work for Shelby Co.
