Poor Keith Olbermann! (Read that like my voice is dripping with sarcasm, because it is.)
Yesterday, TMZ reported that Keith Olbermann was fired from Current TV. And according to them, Olbermann is furious with his old boss, Al Gore, for the firing. He’s saying he’s going to file a lawsuit!
Sounds like this could be a new show, “When Uber Liberals Attack - Each Other!”
I guess he wanted to give himself a day-early birthday present by firing Olbermann, because the day before his birthday, Al Gore released a statement, claiming Keith was disrespectful and disloyal to viewers.
Olbermann fired back saying, “It goes almost without saying that the claims against me implied in Current’s statement are untrue and will be proved so in the legal actions I will be filing against them presently.”
Olbermann then went on to drop this little bombshell: “The truth of the ethics of Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt [Current co-founder] will come out.”
Juicy, juicy, juicy! Makes me wonder just what sort of dirt old Keith has on the man who would be President.
Olbermann’s statement is as follows:
“I’d like to apologize to my viewers and my staff for the failure of Current TV.
Editorially, Countdown had never been better. But for more than a year I have been imploring Al Gore and Joel Hyatt to resolve our issues internally, while I’ve been not publicizing my complaints, and keeping the show alive for the sake of its loyal viewers and even more loyal staff. Nevertheless, Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt, instead of abiding by their promises and obligations and investing in a quality news program, finally thought it was more economical to try to get out of my contract.
It goes almost without saying that the claims against me implied in Current’s statement are untrue and will be proved so in the legal actions I will be filing against them presently. To understand Mr. Hyatt’s “values of respect, openness, collegiality and loyalty,” I encourage you to read of a previous occasion Mr. Hyatt found himself in court for having unjustly fired an employee. That employee’s name was Clarence B. Cain.
In due course, the truth of the ethics of Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt will come out. For now, it is important only to again acknowledge that joining them was a sincere and well-intentioned gesture on my part, but in retrospect a foolish one. That lack of judgment is mine and mine alone, and I apologize again for it.”
Grab your popcorn, people, this one’s going to be fun!
And the Olbermann downward spiral continues. Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.

Permalink Reply by Mary Creekmore on March 31, 2012 at 7:24pm How can you sue someone over an ethics violation when NONE of these people have any ethics? I'd say Karma is coming back to bite them all in the rear end. I can't wait to see what happens next and I sure hope it involves Alec Baldwin too.

Permalink Reply by Sumsanity on March 31, 2012 at 11:08pm Rosie O'Donnell got cancelled too. Maybe her and Olberman and other fired libs like that crackhead comedienne Jenneane Garafalo could form a new lib network. Instead of 'Current' network they could call it the Passé network.
