I don't know about you guys, but I've been receiving a lot of emails from TPN in the last day or so. Hundreds of them!
Furthermore, they've mostly arrived during the wee hours. And many of them inform me of things that happened days ago! (Made me wonder if the U.S Postal Service was involved in the delivery...)
Well, I've done a bit of research, (snooping around) and will summarize what I've learned. Some of it may become a bit technical, for which I now apologize in advance.
Here goes...
TeaPartyNation.com is one of the larger websites hosted at NING systems. Among other things, Ning distributes the mail. Due to a "software glitch" a great deal of email over the past month or so simply hasn't gone out!
By analogy, the gnomes in the back room of TPN have been forwarding the emails to NING, whose gnomes lick the stamps and ship them out.
Has NING fired too many of their gnomes? Are their gnomes SEIU, or OWS protesters? These are things yet to be determined.
Untold numbers of emails may have been lost forever.....large BFI trucks (no, not Big eFfing Indians)
have been seen leaving the docks at NING. What were they hauling?
As well, it is noted that email that's been stuck in corners of the chutes are going out now! Hence the date problems.
So that's pretty much what I've been able to learn to date! Any questions?
Note:
I am not a gnome, I'm a mushroom. They keep me in the dark, and feed me B.S.. But I try!

Vern,
Thanks for the info.
I was just going to contact TPN today. I have only been getting very one or two TPN notices the last couple of days but this morning when I logged into my email account I had over 75 TPN messages and some of them were close to a week old.

Permalink Reply by Thomas Carroll on May 26, 2012 at 12:31pm Sally: Down below all of the comments, there's a heading with a link to your own TPN page. Click the link & go in to your settings you can uncheck a checkbox that says to receive emails from TPN I think. So you don't need to not be a member, just turn off the emails. But then you won't get the stories a lot of us blog/comment on so you'll need to go to your page or the main page & check the headings to see what you want to read. Vern? Judson? Correct me if I'm wrong trying to help out Sally here. Thanks.

Permalink Reply by Paul Szemanczky on May 26, 2012 at 9:43am I'm getting TPN e-mails by the score but NOT from half a dozen other sites I regularly attend and submit data/columns etc., to. Very interesting: needs to be checked, Vern.
Permalink Reply by Judson Phillips on May 26, 2012 at 9:48am We have been fighting this for a month. However it is forcing us to make a choice we probably needed to make. We cannot simply pull TPN off of ning. We would lose everything.
However in the next couple of weeks you will see some news on what we are doing.
Permalink Reply by Juls on May 26, 2012 at 10:16am Be careful what you wish for. Other sites have changed format only to see their membership drop like rocks - too complicated and confusing for us over-50 crowd!
Permalink Reply by Norma J. Sears on May 26, 2012 at 12:28pm Excellent point Juls. Yes, I'm well over 50. LOL
Permalink Reply by Joan Manhardt on May 26, 2012 at 2:02pm I am also well over 50 Juls and probably would never be able to find this site again. LOL
Permalink Reply by Charles F Nichols on May 26, 2012 at 6:34pm Your correct. PAN with their upgrade has become a nightmare. They ask you to hang in there but so far I have not seen an improvement. I think it wont matter much as uncle o has people hacking everything in cyberspace. You would be better off hiring your own hackers and order them to attack the opposition. Then it would only be a matter of who has the best hackers.

I don't know anything about TPN's Website design, but I know that on WordPress, Blogger and several other platforms a service called Feed Burner will consolidate all the posts for a 24 hour period and send out 1 email with the title and paragraph from each post made during the previous 24 hours. On my site that averages 25 posts a day.. I still send out "Special" emails if something important happens, and I send a personal email to key members every morning. If Feed Burner won't work with TPN there should be something else available.
My readers would revolt if they got an email every time something was posted- That's great from a site that only publishes a post or two a day, but from larger sites members begin to feel like they're being spammed, I just dropped World Net Daily for just that reason..
The Daily Caller only sends out 2 in the morning, that's a big site. The Blaze sends out one...

I'll check into modifying the dash in a little bit,
