Scandals are nothing new to Washington. In fact, the City lives on scandal. Something is wrong if another local DC politician is not indicted every few months. Then there are the annual big scandals that come from the Federal Government.
There are two scandals worth looking at. One is the granddaddy of all scandals and one is unfolding right before our eyes.
There are some huge lessons to be learned from what is happening and what happened forty years ago.
In the long hot summer of 1972, the Democratic Headquarters at the Watergate Building was broken into. The reasons for the break in remain vague and really unanswered.
The results are well known. While Richard Nixon may not have known initially what was going on, he certainly wanted to cover it up. His cover up slowly came unraveled. Despite the fact he crushed George McGovern in November 1972, by 1973, Watergate became a household word.
Republicans though willing to defend Nixon initially, began to ask questions. Many Republican would not blindly sit by and let Nixon continue his cover up. Elliot Richardson, the Attorney General and his deputy Attorney General resigned rather than fire independent prosecutor Archibald Cox. Nixon wanted to fire Cox because Cox would not bury the investigation.
As House and Senate Committees lined up to investigate Watergate, the Republicans asked as many hard questions as the Democrats did. It was Tennessee Republican Howard Baker who asked the famous question, “What did the President know and when did he know it?”
By the summer of 1974, the Nixon Presidency was collapsing. In early August, Republicans went to the White House and informed Nixon that there were enough votes to impeach and remove him from Office. While the Democrats were anxious to do so, there were many Republicans who realized Nixon had violated the law and would vote to remove him.
Now, forty years after what has been called “a third rate burglary,” what could be the largest Presidential scandal since Watergate is unfolding before our eyes. Interestingly enough some of the legal issues are the same, including the executive privilege claim that Richard Nixon pioneered.
But there is one huge difference.
Unlike years earlier, where Republicans broke ranks with their President to find out what the President knew and when he knew it, Democrats are standing firm to try and make sure the American people never know what did the Attorney General know, when did he know about it and did he lie to Congress?
Yesterday, after repeated subpoenas and demands, the House oversight committee, on a straight party line vote, voted to ask the full House to hold the Attorney General in contempt of Congress.
The Democrats are screaming about this.
There is no doubt that Fast and Furious is a real scandal. One American Border Patrol agent is dead because of it. Potentially hundreds of Mexicans are dead because of this.
The plan to allow guns into Mexico, which many believe was done so the Obama Regime could make an attack on our Second Amendment Rights, was possibly criminal to begin with.
It is bad enough that people at the highest levels of the Justice Department not only knew about this botched operation but also have worked to at best mislead and stonewall Congress and at worst lie to Congress. But as Watergate taught us so many years ago, it is not the initial incident that is so bad. It is the cover up that always gets you.
What is also very disturbing is the underlying story here. Fast and Furious would never have been investigated by Congress if the Democrats were still in charge. Both Nancy Pelosi, if she were the Speaker and Elijah Cummings, the ranking Democrat on the Oversight Committee have dismissed Fast and Furious as a scandal. Two days ago, he said Eric Holder acted honorably.
The painful truth is that we now have a major political party in Washington that will do anything, say anything, bury any scandal, just so it can hold on to power. Gone are the days when Democrats would step up for the truth for the greater good of America.
Gone are the days when Democrats could put aside partisan bickering in the best interest of the nation.
Gone are the days when Democrats loved this nation and could be counted on to be patriotic.
Today, Barack Obama and Eric Holder are both symbols of the new Party of Treason.
This is a party that must be defeated decisively while we still have the freedom left to beat them.

There is reason for that condition.
The real story here is not yet reported. The Delphi Technique has long invaded decision making processes in most, if not all public institutions. (http://www.vlrc.org/articles/110.html gives a lucid description of the technique) The leadership of the Democratic Party have long practiced this technique. The Delphi Technique is an adaptation of the Hegelian Dialectic. Marx and Engels adapted that dialectical method to their purposes long ago. Contemporary news reporting demonstrates all the signs of being under the control of masters of the Delphi Technique. Manipulation of decision making processes by reigning ideologues rather than a search by free intellects for true things derived from rigorous logical analysis of empirical data is manifested in all aspects of our public discourse.
That is the real story. Political decisions and public opinion are now manipulated by a technique that can be taught and that once implemented is adopted by many of its victims without analysis. It has become a part of the public paradigm. It is at its foundation purely materialistic. It is antithetical to the discovery and derivation of natural law. it is the ultimate achievement of support for tyranny. Our culture, based on God-created nature and natural law, is being destroyed by this technique and the ideological system it supports. Application of that technique has led even self defined conservative thinkers to a conclusion that the average American is too stupid to understand that the Delphi Technique or Hegelian dialectic has been used to deprive them of a measure of judgment. Wordsmiths belonging to that guild therefore resort to selecting only the ideas they think a benighted audience will agree to accept. The American education establishment has long employed the technique to sway administrators and teachers to the goals of secular humanism. All of us are infected by this intellectual virus. We have all been dumbed down. When we make decisions not firmly grounded in the examination of empirical facts, we exhibit a symptom of the disease. The disease has a cure. The cure resides is free exposition of facts and ideas. It includes a study of historical events of both the very recent and distant past. It includes an intent to pursue the truth of natural law and to restore honor to public life.
The real story of contemporary events includes the subversion of the very foundations of perception.

Permalink Reply by JC Patriot on June 23, 2012 at 7:17am This presentation has too many holes to convince me, but thanks for sharing it anyway. Some that I remember that either don't make sense, or damage the presenter's credibility, are:
1. The motive was supposedly to go to war with Iraq to take advantage of their resources and establish a stronghold in the area, but she states that the Iraqis were already willing to cooperate with everything and do all of this anyway because of their own fears of the radical muslims. The U.S. is bad, and Iraq is good. Saddam never appeared so loving and cooperative to me. And if the military/industrial complex is so powerful, they could just get the money in many other ways (just like O is doing).
2. Wiring for audio and video surveillance is completely different from wiring for a whole-house stereo system.
3. She claims that devout Jihadi's would never visit strip clubs, chase women, smoke or indulge in alcoholic beverages, while we already know that many such extremists are quite hypocritical in their alleged belief system.
4. She blames the death of children on the sanctions rather than the events that led to the sanctions, and thus loses credibility because she spends so much time proudly expressing her "activist" good soul.
5. The CIA (not just some in it) is allowed to be classified as torturers by a questioner without any defense by the presenter, yet she had been supposedly working with this same agency for nine years. This guilt-by-association also undermines her credibility.
6. The military is laughed at during the question session as being incredibly stupid and inept. Is this because of an activist bias?
7. The entire patriot act is recklessly attacked, rather than just parts that might be objectionable.
8. Bombing Iraq is supposedly not a threat to them because they are supposedly used to it by now. Then why is the threat continually made that we will bomb them some more in the presentation?
9. Who cares who her cousin is? Is that supposed to mean that we can trust her because she's "on our side?" She just got through impugning most everyone in the Bush administration.
10. Israel is supposedly supporting their enemy/radical muslim Libyan rebels in exchange for a military base in the mountains near where the gold is. This might be quite a slanderous insinuation.
11. She continually smiles while speaking of people she loves dying.
12. Referring to the elder Bush as "Daddy Bush" is too similar to what the usual Bush-haters say.
Hopefully, being the good person that she claims, all of her profits are going to aid the maimed children of the Iraqi bombings.

Black Lawmakers Plot 'Walkout Strategy' During Holder Contempt Vote
http://influencealley.nationaljournal.com/2012/06/black-lawmakers-p...
The Congressional Black Caucus has called a members-only "emergency" meeting on Thursday to plot a "walkout strategy" ahead of the scheduled contempt vote of Attorney General Eric Holder later in the day.
The plans, detailed in an email from the executive director of the Congressional Black Caucus obtained by the Alley, include circulating a letter disapproving of the vote and having lawmakers walk out of the Capitol to hold a press conference during the roll call.
"We cannot and will not participate in a vote to hold the Attorney General in contempt," says the letter, in which the signers urge that "all members of Congress to stand with us during a press conference on the Capitol Building steps during this appalling series of votes to discuss our nation's most significant priority--creating jobs."
At moments, the fight has taken on racial undertones, most notably when Holder, who is African American, told the New York Times in December 2011 that he served as a stand-in for GOP attacks on President Obama. "This is a way to get at the president because of the way I can be identified with him," Holder said, "both due to the nature of our relationship and, you know, the fact that we're both African-American."
A copy of the full draft letter is below:
Dear Colleague:
We write to urge you to stand with us in the pursuit of justice for the Attorney General of the United States of America, Eric H. Holder. In its history, the United States House of Representatives has never held a United States Attorney General, or any other Cabinet official, in contempt.
Instead of focusing on job creation and other critical issues before this Congress, we have been asked to engage in a political stunt on the floor of the United States House of Representatives. Our constituents elected us to do real work, not to engage in meaningless partisan activity.
Over the past 15 months, Attorney General Eric Holder and the Department of Justice have cooperated with the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform's requests for information on "Fast and Furious", an unfortunate operation that began under the Bush Administration and, in fact, was terminated by Attorney General Holder. The Department has made extraordinary efforts to accommodate Congress by turning over almost 8,000 documents--including all the documents that relate to the tactics in this investigation and the other flawed investigations that occurred in Arizona during the Bush Administration. The Attorney General also participated in a bicameral meeting in a good faith effort to satisfy the Committee's information requests. While the Attorney General has advised House Republicans that he is willing to work with them in attempting to reach an agreement, the Republican Leadership is instead rushing recklessly to a contempt vote.
Contempt power should be used sparingly, carefully and only in the most egregious situations. The Republican Leadership has articulated no legislative purpose for pursuing this course of action. For these reasons we cannot and will not participate in a vote to hold the Attorney General in contempt. We adamantly oppose this partisan attack and refuse to participate in any vote that would tarnish the image of Congress or of an Attorney General who has done nothing but work tirelessly to protect the rights of the American people. We must reflect upon why we are elected to this body and choose now to stand up for justice.
We call upon all members of Congress to stand with us during a press conference on the Capitol Building steps during this appalling series of votes to discuss our nation's most significant priority--creating jobs. At this critically important time in our nation, we must work as colleagues rather than political enemies.
