People and nations act in their own self-interest. Only people and nations who are insane do things like committing suicide. Arnold Toynbee said, “Great nations do not die. They commit suicide.”
Are we watching America’s suicide?
Yesterday, the Obama regime, aided and abetted by five people in little black dresses, helped the United States commit suicide.
The fight over the Arizona law was not a fight over its Constitutionality. Only on the issue of what is called Federal Preemption. In plain, non-lawyer English, that means that if a state law and a federal law conflict, the federal law wins.
The one area where the Supremes said that Arizona’s law was not preempted was the provision that allowed Arizona authorities to detain someone and check their immigration status.
In response to this ruling, the Obama Regime immediately canceled the 287(G) programs that allow local police officers to be trained and authorized to check immigration status. Further they said, they would not answer additional calls from Arizona.
In other words, the Federal Government is now turning its back on Arizona.
To add insult to injury, the Federal Government announced a new hotline. This is not a hotline to help Arizona citizens who have had their property damaged or destroyed by illegal aliens. This is not a hotline to help Arizona citizens who have been victims of crime.
This new hotline is so that illegal aliens can report violations of their “civil rights” by Arizona authorities.
The nation has gone mad.
The Federal Government refuses to protect American citizens, but if you invade this nation illegally, the government is going to do everything in its power to help you.
Justice Antonin Scalia wrote a stinging dissent and as usual hit it out of the park.
He said that, “The United States is an indivisible Union of sovereign states. Today’s opinion … deprives states of what most would consider the defining characteristic of sovereignty: the power to exclude from the sovereign’s territory people who have no right to be there. Neither the Constitution itself nor even any law passed by Congress supports this result.”
He added, “As a sovereign, Arizona has the inherent power to exclude persons from its territory, subject only to those limitations expressed in the Constitution or constitutionally imposed by Congress. That power to exclude has long been recognized as inherent in sovereignty.”
We are losing our sovereignty over America.
One of the inherent characteristics of sovereignty is the ability to exercise control over a geographic area. That means the government and the citizens of a nation can use and occupy the territory.
We have parts of Arizona that are no longer under American sovereignty. There are parts of Arizona Americans cannot go into because they are controlled by drug cartels and illegal alien smugglers.
The nation has gone mad.
Obama and the Party of Treason want American to commit political suicide.
Newt Gingrich once said, “The Constitution is not a suicide pact.” That is what Obama is trying to do to America. Scalia said, “The United States is an indivisible union of sovereign states.
We are reaching a tipping point. Either the States in this Union will no longer be indivisible or we will no longer be sovereign.
This is what Obama and the Party of Treason are trying to accomplish.
This is why they must be defeated.

there is a great sense of objec tion and disbelief in the spanish community: they do not support illegal immigration either. and because of o.'s stand on same sex marriage he has lost more support than he knows.
but he will win - maybe we won't even have an election.
I thought it was the outgoing pres who could grant pardons, not the incoming one. Anyone?

Permalink Reply by Thomas Angle on Maybe it is a little early or I am brain dead. But, how can the states be sovereign, yet the Union be indivisible? If the states are given all the power that specifically is not given to the federal government in the Constitution. What recourse do they have if the federal government oversteps? It would seem to me that if the states where sovereign, they could just remove themselves from the Union. Which is exactly the ground that this country was formed on.

Right up until ratification of the Sixteenth Amendment an intermediate step would have been for the state to withhold payment of Federal taxes. Now, of course, the IRS reaches right through the state directly into citizens' pockets. We've been under siege a very long time....
