I am not a big fan of people who are in the entertainment industry.   I think most movie stars; singers and other entertainers are generally overpaid narcissists.

However, every now and then one comes along who makes everyone proud.

Marc Anthony is a well-known singer, actor and songwriter.  He is also known for being married to Jennifer Lopez.

On Thursday, Marc Anthony was enjoying himself in Las Vegas when he spotted two United States Marines.  Marc Anthony went up to them, introduced himself and in honor of Veterans Day, which was still a few hours away; he took the two Marines with him and showed them the party of a lifetime.

Marc Anthony took the Marines to the exclusive Tao Night Club, bought them expensive booze and made certain that everyone at the club knew the Marines were not only with him but they were the guests of honor that night.

Those two Marines certainly have a memory to last a lifetime but there is more to this story.

Hundreds of people we call superstars were out on Thursday evening.  Many in the Hollywood set were out partying and enjoying the benefits of liberty and freedom that America provides.  Those Marines and others like them make huge sacrifices to give us the gift of liberty.

The story here is that Marc Anthony is a great guy and did something amazing.    The story here is also that we haven’t heard any other stories like this.  There may have been a one or two other instances where Hollywood types treated American military personnel like the heroes they are but I doubt it.

I’m not going to sit here and rip those who did not act.  Marc Anthony was a real patriot Thursday night.  He did not have to honor those Marines the way he did, but he did.

Marc Anthony, you are a great American.

Thank you for this story.

That is Great.

Great story! There have been others, remember Bob Hope?

Thank you for this story, and thank you Marc Anthony for doin what ya did.  You are indeed a patriot.

Yeah, taking these men out getting them drunk and showing them the sleezy, sorted life in Vegas is a great thing to do?

NOT!

I have to agree with you Lin B.

sorted? Don't you mean sordid? you twit !

Las Vegas is not what it used to be and there is nothing wrong with Marines having a few drinks and watching a Vegas show. What did you do to show your support and thanks for or military? Nothing.you twit!

You are assuming a "fact not in evidence".

You don't know the details of what they did.

It's nice to hear about an entertainer that still realizes that those marines make it possible for him to be who he is. I try to take the time to say Thank You everytime I see someone in the military. It only takes a minute and it makes them feel someone cares and does even more for you when you thank them.

Not all of Tinseltown is supporting Obama, there are some who are still patriotic.

Judson, it's finally great to see these actors, like Mark Anthony returning to American values, like Holywood did during WWII. Great story.

Mention should also be made about the great patriot Gary Sinise, star of CSI-NY. He is the co-founder of Operation Iraqi Children. His foundation raises funds to make sure that the children of Iraq receive school supplies. He is also the spokes person for The America Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial Fund.

There is also John Voight who is very involved with Take Action To Restore America and has been in the battle field many times with soldiers in the middle east. He is also a staunch supporter of Israel and was a speaker at Glenn Beck's Israeli tour this August.

We need to praise these brave people more. It would encourage more actors to come out of the closet, sort of speak to show the left that they don't have the monopoly on Hollywood.

Agi, I saw him on the Huckabee Show saying what he believes in as well.
