As conservatives now lament the now probable nomination of Mitt Romney to be the Republican nominee for President, one question on the minds of conservatives is, did Romney really mean what he said or was he just saying what he thought he needed to say?

Unfortunately, I fear we are about to discover a terrible fact.   I fear we are in fact going to discover that Romney simply said what he thought he needed to.  Romney has managed to get the nomination basically without the support of the Tea Party movement and without mainstream conservatives.

Romney will not win this fall without the support of conservatives.  In a recent survey on Tea Party Nation, a quarter of those surveyed said they would not vote for Romney in the fall election.

The election this fall is going to be close.  The Party of Treason will be getting every dead person they can out to vote and in other places people will be voting early and often.  Romney may have been able to win the nomination without appealing to the Tea Party and to conservatives, but he had better start to get conservatives in his corner as soon as he can.

How can he do this?

Here is a start.  Commit that by January 1, 2014, he will have $1 a gallon gas.

First, let’s start with the basics.  Romney himself cannot give us $1 a gallon gas.  But he and a Republican Congress can create the environment where it is possible.

Has anyone been paying attention to Obama?  Just in case no one has noticed, he is not afraid of anything Rick Santorum has said.  He is not afraid of anything Mitt Romney has said.  The only thing he has worried about is Newt Gingrich when he started talking about $2.50 a gallon gas.

If anything, Newt was not ambitious enough. Regardless, that was what Obama attacked.  Why?  Because he knows that is his vulnerability.

People are screaming at $4 a gallon gas right now.  What does anyone think will happen when gas hits $5 a gallon.

Not only is this a winning issue for the election, it is a winning policy.

Does anyone remember 2008?  Gas prices shot to well over $4 a gallon.  Does anyone remember what George W. Bush did?  He revoked an executive order prohibiting off shore drilling.  That was purely symbolic act, as a law would have to be repealed to allow off shore drilling, but it was enough.   Gas prices fell to $1.60 a gallon in some areas by the time George W. Bush left office.

Barack Obama’s first act as President was to reinstate the executive order banning off shore drilling and gas prices have gone up ever since then.

Can you imagine what would happen if we had a President committed to $1 a gallon gas?  If he were willing to do what it takes to allow new drilling, new refining and getting the Department of Job Destruction and Poverty Creation, otherwise known as the Environmental Protection Agency out of the way of American energy production?

If we dropped the price of gas down to $1 a gallon, there would be a huge economic stimulus.  A staggering drop in the price of gas could help quickly end the Great Obama Depression.

So here is the question for Mitt Romney.  Are you a liberal or are you a conservative?  Are you willing to prove it?  Are you willing to step out with a daring plan that will captivate America and disarm Obama?

That is the question.  America waits for your answer Mitt Romney.

Right on Katie, the only problem with the American public is they just don't have the ability to read between the lines where most of the TRUTH is hidden. Until people start reading between politician's lines I'm afraid we are Destined for a dictator state.

YES right on John Beck!!! I really wish that others would understand that as well. :) I am seeing a dictatorship coming soon, and it really is scary. Personally I don't think that we even have to worry about Romney, Obama is going to pull Marshall law! ;)

John:

We the people are "Subject to this damn bunch of thugs" !  Making plones calls, writings letters and begging is not anything tha will motivate "EVIL" TO DO BETTER !

WE CAN READ THE BLACK & WHITE OF THE WRITING ON THE WALL...BUT IT ALL TURNS OUT TO BE "CORRUPTION OF THE RULE OF LAW...FOR PERSONAL GAIN AND MISUSE OF POWER....REMEMBER NIXON ?

Ron

I don't like Romney but I will vote for anyone but Obama.

All of this tells me that We The People have to get active for the next election.

Debrajoe, I feel the same way!!!!!

No, we have to get active now. Vote for Romney if he is the nominee and vote for every conservative down the entire ballot. If we get both House and Senate Romney will have to behave like a conseervative, and for all that is said about him, I still think he has the knowledge to get us out of this economic slump and I don't think he will be "flexi ble"  with Vladimir Putin like someone we all know about whispered recently.

Simantov:

WE WILL HAVE TO STAY ON ROMNEY'S ASS JUST LIKE THE REST. HE IS USE TO "DOING IT MY WAY"!

HE DOES WAT HE WANTS TO DO OR GOES HOME.

HE DID NOT EVEN TAKE A PAYCHECK AS GOVERNOR. WHEN HIS 4 YEARS WAS UP HE "HAD ALL THE HARD DRIVES PULLED OFF OF HIS ADMINISTRATION'S COMPUTERS...TO KEEP ALL OF THE INFORMATION CONCERNING HIS ADMINISTRATIONS CORRESPONDENCE, ACTIONS AND ANYOTHER DATA GENERATED BY ROMNEY AND COMPANY !

THE THING THAT HAS ALWAYS CONCERNED ME ABOUT MITT IS HIS SECRECY ABOUT HIMSELF.

Debrajoe,

I, also, agree!

ABO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem is that Romney will win because of the Conservatives.Whether anyone wants to accept it there are more then 1 Tea Party/Patriot groups out there and each one has chosen their "Not The Romney"candidate. You have 60% of the "N T R" votes getting split up between them. This will allow Romney to take it with out getting the a majority of the votes and receive the Delegates needed to get the nomination.

We've really waited too long for his answer to prove himself. I'm telling you, I may vote for Romney only because I will not votefor Obama. However, and you can take it to the bank, I will not fail to vote against all Rinos.  And I wil lvote against Boehner in a couple of years. What we need to do is purchase TV time, and show that Obama is inelligible. They will not read it on Tea Party news. I suspect that Romney cannot beat Obama because of Rommneycare, so we desperatly need to get Obama off the Ballot. 4 years from now, we should have removed most Rinos, and refuse to let the Establishment pick our candidate. Otherwise the Tea Party isn't worth a Damn.

Roni,

That was a flawless statement; perfect in every way and completely true.  Good JOB!  :)

It took over 65 years to get this bad, don't expect to have it fixed in 4 years! Bottom up infiltration will take time as it did for the progressives. We need to keep plugging away at the top while getting the right people in from the bottom.Local,County and State. These are the people who will be advancing to the federal in the years to come.
