As I was driving to Washington on Tuesday, I had a chance to enjoy something I rarely get to do. I had the chance to listen to Rush Limbaugh.
As I did, Rush was relating the story that had just come out about the RNC conference call that had been leaked to a reporter at Yahoo News.
The conference call was put together by the RNC. Anytime the RNC gets together you can pretty much figure out the results are not going to be good.
These bright lights decided to discuss strategy and they said that Republican candidates should not make personal attacks against Barack Obama.
What?
I listened with disbelief. Not that the RNC is not capable of such stupidity. Actually that gets demonstrated all the time. I just keep hoping one day they will learn. My disbelief is they simply never learn.
My father was a 28 year Air Force Sergeant who taught me many creative, unique and very obscene ways to express my displeasure. In the privacy of my rental car on I-77 inbound to Washington, I went through a litany of those expressions.
No personal attacks on Barack Obama?
Has the RNC decided to borrow John Boehner’s freshly laundered white flag of surrender?
What are they thinking? Does the collective IQ of the brain donors who came up with that strategy even move into the double-digit range?
In 2008, John McCain would not make attacks against Barack Obama. That did not stop Obama or his surrogates from attacking McCain.
We all see how well McCain’s strategy worked out.
Having been involved in Republican politics most of my adult life; I am very used to the phenomena of Republicans bringing knives to gunfights.
Many in the Republican Party secretly long for the glory days of the 70’s. If you do not remember those days, the Democrats controlled not only the White House, but they had such a lock on Congress, sometimes they did not even bother to tell Republicans when committees were meeting or even when votes were scheduled. But the Democrats liked back then the Republicans because they were not a threat.
If there is a modicum of intelligence in that bastion of unbelievable stupidity we call the RNC, Reince Priebus needs to come out immediately, fire those buffoons who offered such a ridiculous strategy and he needs to encourage the RNC to fight back.
For some reason, the RNC thinks a fight with the Democrats must be fought with Marquess of Queensbury rules. This is not a gentlemen’s debate. It is a street fight. It is an MMA brawl. When is the RNC going to realize this and start acting like they want to win elections?
The Republican Party has already blown the 2010 mandate. The American public sent a message to Washington with the elections.
The Republican Party in the House responded by floating a massive sign over the Capitol saying, “We are idiots.”
As we wind down this year, the Republican House of Representatives is going to spend more money than Nancy Pelosi did when she was speaker.
I have one question for the bright lights at the RNC. This year, as Barack Obama and the DNC savage Republicans and Conservatives, is it okay with you if this year we can mention Obama’s middle name?

It's time for the GOP to hoist the black flag! Expect no quarter, because you will receive none!
Permalink Reply by MUG on December 8, 2011 at 9:17am The GOP has already hoisted the White Flag. It's time for the Tea Party to hoist the Black Flag for the upcoming Republican Primaries at all levels, Local, State and National.
No Romney - No Romney Lite!
Conservative or Die!
No Quarter!
No Surrender!
We can't allow the establishment, media and RINO's shape our message.
Permalink Reply by Pat Fisher on December 8, 2011 at 9:42am You are right. Jeff, the GOP establishment will get no quarter from me. Last presidential election I sat with my mouth open as Michael Steel, let the DNC keep every thing about obama in the closet and McCain, well what can you say. He was on his back begging for mercy before bho got his fists in the air. (all the spine was beat out of mccain years ago and he will say anything so you don't hurt him again)
I worked very hard to get as conservative a candidate in the MN 5th dist. instaed the MNGOP ran a nobody white cream puff against elison and guess what we got? another muslim in the congress who hate america.
I worked hard on Michelle Bachmann's re election. I worked with all the local coservatives, because I would not support with one dime the GOP on the state level nor national. I think this time we all need to work our fingers to the bone. all 200,000 of us. Keep the Rove's, McCain, Grahams and etc. out of our fight for this country. They will only sabatoge it to continue the status quo.
Maybe this is how we get a 3rd party and they won't even know until they are not invited to the big dance.

TEA party!
Permalink Reply by Charlie Earl on December 8, 2011 at 7:56am Well put, Judson. Bob Michael is beginning to resemble a GOP tiger. Holding on the power (even as a minority) is more important than saving the nation. I suspect and fear that most elected officials of either party do NOT understand the Constitution, principle or the purpose of the Founders and Framers. They are losers, and the nation is lost.
Permalink Reply by Judith E Jones on December 8, 2011 at 8:04am Guess the Tea Party Nation needs to start arming themselves with TRUTH>>> Tell the American People what has been happening while we slept all these years... PEOPLE WHO TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED USUALLY GET TAKEN....This has been true for centuries... WATCH YOUR BACK is no idle statement...for too too long the American Public has been to let others do it... WELL FOLKS TIME TO WAKE UP ALL THE OTHERS WHO ARE STILL SLEEPING..... Judith J
