Does anyone in the Obama regime actually think things through?
Anyone with three functioning brain cells could have figured a few things out. One of which is there would be absolute chaos if Kaddafi were over thrown in Libya and because like a lot of dictators, Kaddafi liked to buy some really expensive weapons, some of them would fall into the hands of some not very nice people.

Defeated in battle, Moammar Kaddafi’s army left behind armories brimming with weapons, and the rebels have helped themselves. It's not just guns that have been plundered. Almost every outpost captured by opposition forces has yielded weapons, everything from AK-47 assault rifles to grenades to surface-to-air missiles (SAMs). And the rebels tell ABC News that they don't have enough resources to safeguard them all -- which means they may wind up in the hands of people who have other agendas than defeating Kaddafi.
On Thursday we visited an army base in Tripoli, and found the grounds littered with SAMs. Some were stored in concrete bunkers, others lay in open shipping containers, there for the taking. The base looked like it had been battered by NATO airstrikes, but nearly all the missiles we found remained undamaged, their warheads intact. The front gate of the base was wide open, and we were able to drive in without being stopped.
According to Peter Bouckaert, emergencies director at Human Rights Watch, the weapons the looters want most, and take first, are the SAMs.
HRW estimates there are 20,000 surface-to-air missiles in Libya, and many of those are now missing. Some are recent Russian-made SAMs, capable of shooting down aircraft flying as high as 11,000 feet.
"They have no military use in this war," said Bouckaert. "Kaddafi is not flying any airplanes, he's not flying any helicopters. So why are people looting these very powerful and dangerous missiles?
Oh I don’t know, could I possibly guess a reason?
Islamic terrorists are known to be in leadership positions among the Libyan rebels. What could they possibly want to do? Perhaps share them with Al-Qaeda and let Al-Qaeda use them against passenger airliners?
Given our porous southern border, along with the tons of marijuana and cocaine that are smuggled into the Southwest, how hard would it be to smuggle some of those SAM’s into Arizona?
How hard would it be to get those weapons near a major airport? A plane landing or taking off would have no chance. It probably would not know about the missile until it exploded, killing all on board.
While no conservative wanted America involved in this war that we have no interest in, can someone please tell me why the Obama regime did not send the military in to destroy the Libyan arsenals? Certainly Libyan defectors could have told us where the munitions were. The looters had no trouble finding them.
If a Libyan missile in the future shoots down an American airliner, this will be another tragedy that belongs right at the feet of Barack Obama.

Probably they don't even know what a lot of that stuff is. But, yes, it could be disastrous and we have no reason to trust the average citizen from Libya any more than we have reason to trust the average citizen from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Iran.... The list goes on.
I know people sit here and think that people around the world sit around wishing they could be Americans but that is far from the truth. Obama, of all people, should know that!

@ Abbe, the people in Libya probably know more about SAMs, IEDs and various other sophisticated weapons than the average American citizen. Half our population are pacifist, never educated themselves on weapons and believe they don't exist. They mocked GW Bush about weapons of mass destruction. I don't know, and maybe it's just me, but I think when you find a stock of 50,000 munitions in one place you just might consider that to be weapons of mass destruction, I know not your everyday WMD but close in my book.

I have long thought the the Progressives desire as much chaos as possible in order to more speedily move forward their agenda of "fundamentally transforming" the United States. Mr. Obama is not an executive much less a military strategist, he likely was planning his next vacation when all this weaponry came available. But, we may all be assured that the CIA and the Special Forces folks on the ground thought of it before it ever happened.... I would not be surprised to learn that this was a deliberate "oversight" on the part of the Obama administration. Any administration that would sell weapons to drug cartels will do anything. The end justifies the means....

When news that Bin Laden was killed and allpraise was heaped on Ovomit, that very day I
heard a reporter state that CIA and Special Forces had communication with Pres. Ovomit asking
for permission to take him out. Ovomit sat on the info for several days. The Forces were worried
that OBL would slip away again and they threatened Ovomit that if he did not give the go ahead
to invade, they would tell the world that Ovomit refused to give permission. Then with that threat
looming over him, his advisors turned it to Ovomit's advantage. As I understand Leon Panetta
actually gave the go ahead. I just want to scream everytime I hear "non-Fox" reporters praise
Ovomit for such mastery ! ! ! He DID NOTHING! ! ! After that first day, I never heard that report
again.

Remember how the libs used to sneer that Cheney was Bush's puppetmaster, and Rove was his brain? Well having had enough of Obama's dithering, Leon Panetta actually green lighted the raid that killed Usama bin Laden. Guess that makes Panetta Obama's cohones.

We voted for a muslim president since 9/11 made some happy. What is wrong with the American voters? Are we so naive to think those sam missles will not be used against us? obama has no experience with war or jobs or the economy and we will all pay a big price for being so stupid as to vote for an inexperienced muslim president.America must wake up and wake up now. The white house is very corrupt and we must stop voting for socialist democrats.... No more obama... About that birth certificate,will obama need one next time around?

Glenn Beck has already identified all the players. The players are, as of yesterday, in Egypt, attacking the Israeli Embassy. The players have been enabled by the great one to facilitate a Caliphate that will, again, as Glenn Beck has told us, will attack Israel from all sides. So much for Egypt being controlled by the military; a military that has stood by silently while the Israel Embassy burns..............yes, it falls to the feet of the Great One, the Islamic Trojan horse, but to no avail.

and the left blamed bush for not having a plan once we won the iraq war? maybe the plan was for radical islamists to get the weapons and use them on israel. we all know how much obama loves israel. i have heard that alqueda was part of the rebel forces. i don't know if it is true but it would not surprise me.

Obama can put 8 million unemployed legal immigrants and citizens back to work if he "wanted to" by simply telling ICE to do their job 100% and go after businesses and their illegal workers, instead he is telling them to use prosecutorial discretion and give work permits. And the latest is that he's gearing up to spend billions for infrasctructure and unemployment benefits extension, he has already done that and we are still where we are today. Kick 8 million illegals out and let 8 million legal immigrans and citizens get back to work to reduce the burdens on states so they can spend on contracting instead of helping our unemployed!!! And it will stop many foreclosures that help an already damaged housing market. Now that is a plan to get people back to work in the shortest time-frame, then work on bringing manufacturing back by cutting Obama's job-killing policies!!
